Background: Large simple trials are potentially efficient and cost-effective approaches to assess interventions to preserve cognitive function in older adults. High-dose cocoa flavanols supplementation is a promising intervention that warrants additional testing. Importance: Most cognitive functions decline with age. Prior studies suggest that testosterone treatment may improve these functions.
