Introduction: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) are rare tumors. We report data of 407 GEP-NET cases from a neuroendocrine tumor (NET) registry in India.
Methods: The AP-NET registry is an open-label, multicenter, longitudinal observational registry of patients with GEP-NETs in which six tertiary care oncology centers contributed data.
Background: Oral cancer is one of the most common life threatening diseases all over the world, in particular in Asian countries, and tobacco and alcohol are considered to be the most potent risk factors for oral cancer.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine the combined effect of smoking types and alcohol consumption on the development of oral cancer.
Patients And Methods: A case-control study of 350 cases and 350 controls over a period of 19 months in the time period between February 2005 and September 2006 was carried out in Pune, India.
Purpose: International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) staging for cervical cancer does not yet consider findings of cross-sectional imaging unlike clinical tumor, node, and metastasis (TNM) staging system. We compare the two with regard to accuracy in pretreatment staging and their reliability in the prediction of prognosis.
Materials And Methods: This was an observational study of patients with biopsy-proven nonmetastatic cervical carcinoma.
Aim: Comorbidity in cancer patients may influence treatment decisions, postoperative morbidity and ultimately, survival. The TNM staging system does not take comorbidity into account. This study investigates the burden of comorbidity in cancer patients, its effect on resection rate, postoperative morbidity, adjuvant therapy, recurrence and survival.
