Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a study that examines the prognostic value of lactate metabolism genes in tumor cells, which are associated with clinical prognosis. We analyzed the expression and clinical data for LUAD from The Cancer Genome Atlas database, using the GSE68465 dataset from the Gene Expression Omnibus and the MSigDB database. LASSO Cox regression and stepwise Cox regression were used to identify the optimal lactate metabolism gene signature.

Influence of macromolecules and electrolytes on heteroaggregation kinetics of polystyrene nanoplastics and goethite nanoparticles in aquatic environments.

Fate and transport of nanoplastics in aquatic environments are affected by their heteroaggregation with minerals in the presence of macromolecules. This study investigated the heteroaggregation of polystyrene nanoplastics (PSNPs) with goethite nanoparticles (GNPs) under the influence of macromolecules [humic acid (HA), bovine serum albumin (BSA), and DNA] and electrolytes. Under 1 mg C/L macromolecule, raising electrolyte concentration promoted heteroaggregation via charge screening, except that calcium bridging with HA also enhanced heteroaggregation at CaCl concentration above 5 mM.

[Analysis of the factors influencing prognosis of the adult in-hospital cardiac arrest].

Objective: To explore the factors influencing prognosis of patients with in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA).

Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted. The clinical data of patients who developed IHCA and underwent cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2022 were analyzed.

Heteroaggregation between polystyrene nanoplastics (PSNPs) and soot nanoparticles (STNPs) in aquatic environments may affect their fate and transport. This study investigated the effects of particle concentration ratio, electrolytes, pH, and humic acid on their heteroaggregation kinetics. The critical coagulation concentration (CCC) ranked CCC > CCC > CCC, indicating that heteroaggregation rates fell between homoaggregation rates.

ZNF692 promotes the migration and response to immunotherapy of clear cell renal cell carcinoma cells by targeting metabolic pathway.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), with high mortality and poor prognosis, is the most common type of renal malignancy. It is necessary to identify new biomarkers that can serve as indicators for the detection of ccRCC at its early stages. In this study, we analyzed the role of classical zinc finger protein 692 (ZNF692) in ccRCC using datasets from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Single Cell Portal and immunohistochemical (IHC) staining of a tissue-microarray, and analyzed the function of ZNF692 in ccRCC cells.

Roles of the crucial mitochondrial DNA in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy prognosis and diagnosis: A review.

Influence of protein configuration on aggregation kinetics of nanoplastics in aquatic environment.

Aggregation kinetics of nanoplastics in aquatic environment are influenced by their interactions with proteins having different structures and properties. This study employed time-resolved dynamic light scattering (TR-DLS) to investigate the effects of 5 proteins (bovine hemoglobin (BHb), bovine (BSA) and human serum albumin (HSA), collagen type I (Col I), and bovine casein (CS)) on aggregation kinetics of polystyrene nanoplastics (PSNPs) under natural water conditions, which were simulated using various ionic strength (1-1000 mM NaCl and 0.01-100 mM CaCl), pH (3-9), and protein concentration (1-5 mg/L of total organic carbon).

Clinical characteristics of non-ampullary duodenal polyps in the elderly and the outcomes of endoscopic mucosal resection.

At present, there are no reports on non-ampullary polyps of the duodenum (NAPDs) in the elderly. The aim of this study was to analyze the clinicopathological features of NAPDs in elderly and non-elderly patients to explore the efficacy and safety of endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) of NAPDs in the elderly.A total of 110 patients underwent EMR of NAPDs between April 2016 and December 2019.

Renal injury following long-term exposure to carbon disulfide: analysis of a case series.

In this study, we found that the Th17 cells were significantly accumulated in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of anti-NMDAR encephalitis patients than that of control individuals.

Thyroid-Like Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma: Report of a Case and Review of the Literature.

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is a relatively uncommon malignant neoplasm. We recently encountered an unusual case of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma that histologically resembled a thyroid carcinoma.
