Article Synopsis
  • The text discusses two newly discovered species of edible mushrooms from southwestern China, which adds to the existing knowledge primarily recorded in Oceania, Europe, and South America.
  • The morphological features include medium-sized basidiomata with specific characteristics of chlamydospores and basidiospores, detailing their appearance and structure.
  • Phylogenetic analyses suggest these new species are distinct based on their genetic makeup, but further research and more specimens are needed to confirm their identity and relationships to existing species in databases like GenBank.

Two-dimensional (2D) nonlayered transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) materials are emergent platforms for various applications from catalysis to quantum devices. However, their limited availability and nonstraightforward synthesis methods hinder our understanding of these materials. Here, we present a novel technique for synthesizing 2D nonlayered AuCrS via Au-assisted chemical vapor deposition (CVD).

Conversion into high-value-added organic nitrogen compounds through electrochemical C-N coupling reactions under ambient conditions is regarded as a sustainable development strategy to achieve carbon neutrality and high-value utilization of harmful substances. Herein, we report an electrochemical process for selective synthesis of high-valued formamide from carbon monoxide and nitrite with a RuCu single-atom alloy under ambient conditions, which achieves a high formamide selectivity with Faradaic efficiency of 45.65 ± 0.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the occurrence and risk factors of major depression disorder (MDD) among local teachers shortly after the Lushan earthquake.
  • A total of 319 teachers were evaluated for MDD using a diagnostic tool, with additional factors assessed through a self-developed questionnaire.
  • Findings indicated that 4.7% of teachers had MDD, with higher risks for those with injured relatives and inhabitable homes, while feeling anxious post-earthquake served as a protective factor.

Objective: To investigate the effects of methanol extract of Celastrus orbiculatu (MECO) on synovial hyperplasia and cartilage erosion and degradation in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and explore the possible mechanisms to provide clues for new drug development for RA treatment.

Methods: The articular synovium from patients with RA and normal articular cartilage were co-implanted into the back of severe combined immunodeficient (SCID)mice to establish the chimeric model SCID- HuRAg. Four weeks later, the mice were given MECO intragastrically at 30 mg/day, leflunomide at 500 microg/day or distilled water, respectively, for 4 consecutive weeks.
