Phylogenetics of the Thamnocalamus group and its allies (Gramineae: Bambusoideae): inference from the sequences of GBSSI gene and ITS spacer.

Phylogenetics of 33 species (35 species in the ITS analysis) of the Thamnocalamus group and its allies inferred from partial sequences of the nuclear GBSSI gene and from those of the nuclear ribosomal ITS spacer was discussed in the present paper. The analyses of two separate data and combined data sets were performed using the parsimony method. Two species from Arundinaria and Acidosasa were used as outgroups.

Phylogeny of Saururaceae based on mitochondrial matR gene sequence data.

DNA sequences of matR gene from three species of Saururaceae and the selected outgroups, Chloranthus holostegius and Zippelia begoniaefolia, are reported. All DNA sequences of six species in four genera of Saururaceae and the two outgroups are analyzed on PAUP 4.0 8b to reconstruct the phylogeny.

Contents of chemical elements in stomach during prenatal development: different age-dependent dynamical changes and their significance.

Aim: To observe dynamic of different chemical elements in stomach tissue during fetal development.

Methods: To determine contents of the 21 chemical elements in each stomach samples from fetus aging four to ten months. The content values were compared to those from adult tissue samples, and the values for each month group were also analyzed for dynamic changes.

Phylogenetic analyses, using the parsimony method and the neighbor-joining method, of 31 species of the Thamnocalamus group and its allies based on internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences in nuclear ribosomal DNA are presented. Two species from Arundinaria and Acidosasa were used as outgroups. The ITS phylogeny strongly supports the monophyly of the Thamnocalamus group and its allies, which have pachymorph rhizomes and semelauctant synflorescences with three stamens.
