The total variation (TV) method favors solutions with the piece-wise constant assumption of the desired image from sparse-view sampling, for example, simple geometric images with flat intensity. When the phantoms become more complex and contain complicated textures, for example, high-resolution phantom and lung CT images, the images reconstructed by TV regularization may lose their contrast and fine structures. One of the optimally sparse transforms for images, the shearlet transform, has C without discontinuities on C curves, giving excellent sensitive directional information as compared with other wavelet transform approaches.

Dual-energy computed tomography (CT) reconstruction imaging technology is an important development direction in the field of CT imaging. The mainstream model of dual-energy CT reconstruction algorithm is the basis material decomposition model, and the projection decomposition is the crucial technique. The projection decomposition algorithm based on projection matching was a general method.

Identification of disease-causing genes is a fundamental challenge for human health studies. The phenotypic similarity among diseases may reflect the interactions at the molecular level, and phenotype comparison can be used to predict disease candidate genes. Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM) is a database of human genetic diseases and related genes that has become an authoritative source of disease phenotypes.
