Introduction: The intricate interplay of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and gut microbiota influences tumor development and progression, yet the impacts on colorectal cancer (CRC) metastasis remain incompletely understood.

Methods: The impact of Il10 deficiency on CRC metastasis was first evaluated in CRC metastasis tumor samples and mouse model. Antibiotic sterilization and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) experiment were used to assess the role of gut microbiota in IL-10 mediated CRC metastasis, and full-length 16S rDNA sequencing analysis further identified the potential target bacteria influencing CRC metastasis.

Neuropathic pain (NeP) is a condition charactesized by nervous system injury or dysfunction that affects a significant portion of the population. Current treatments are ineffective, highlighting the need for novel therapeutic approaches. Mahuang Fuzi Xixin decoction (MFXD) has shown promise for treating pain conditions in clinical practice; however, its potential against NeP and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Article Synopsis
  • Exclusive enteral nutrition (EEN) has been shown to impact gut microbiota in Crohn's disease patients, although its specific mechanisms for reducing intestinal inflammation are not fully understood.
  • Research involved mouse models and sequencing analyses to identify a beneficial bacterium, Faecalibaculum rodentium (F. rodentium), which showed promise in reducing colitis symptoms.
  • Findings indicated that F. rodentium contributes to colitis protection through histidine biosynthesis, and engineered bacteria could enhance this effect.
