Doxorubicin (Dox) is widely used as a chemotherapy drug, while anethole (AN) is primarily known as the main aromatic component in various plant species. This research focused on the impact of AN on the cardiac and renal toxicity induced by Dox and to understand the underlying mechanisms. For cardiac toxicity, Wistar rats were categorized into four groups: a Control group; a Dox group, where rats received 2.

SLL-0197800 is a recently discovered isoquinoline compound with potential strong universal anticoronaviral activities against SARS-CoV-2 and its previous strains. SLL-0197800 nonspecifically hits the main protease (M) enzyme of the different coronaviruses.

Previous studies have examined the connection between HOTAIR SNPs rs4759314 and rs920778 for breast cancer (BC), getting variable results in multiple ethnicities. Therefore, this study was designed to evaluate the connection between these two SNPs and disease vulnerability, clinic-laboratory, and hormonal parameters, featuring status associations with the BC risk in an Egyptian woman sample.

The genus is composed of 70 described species, 22 known subspecies and six valid fossil species worldwide, while from the Arabian Peninsula, three species have been recorded so far.
New Information: Ants of the genus of the Arabian Peninsula are reviewed, keyed and illustrated, based on the worker caste.
In this study, the Saudi Arabian Thorictinae beetle species, Háva & Abdel-Dayem, , Háva & Abdel-Dayem, , Háva & Abdel-Dayem, , Háva & Abdel-Dayem, are described, illustrated, and compared with related species. Three other species: Germar, 1834; Wasmann, 1894; and Chobaut, 1904 are excluded from the fauna of Saudi Arabia. A list of Thorictinae species from the Arabian Peninsula is provided.

Background: Bowel disease is a significant cause of significant morbidity and mortality around the world. Though colorectal cancer is a major cause for concern, there are a variety of other conditions which are chronic, debilitating and/or socially embarrassing. While the internet provides excellent resources, there is often conflicting and confusing material of doubtful veracity.
View Article and Find Full Text PDF: Laparoscopic techniques are now an integral part of the operative management of colorectal diseases. However, the specialist training that is required for this is not uniformly available. There is, therefore, a need for a structured competency-based training method so that trainees can navigate the learning curve safely.

New Information: Twenty species, belonging to seven genera and three subfamilies (Pachygastrinae, Stratiomyinae and Nemotelinae), are treated.
Background The frequency of radiological surveillance after curative colorectal cancer resection has long been a controversial issue with the need to balance potential harm from ionizing radiation and the financial burden of intense surveillance against advantages of early detection of recurrent disease. NICE guidelines issued in 2018 suggested having two surveillance computed tomography (CT) scans within three years of surgery without specifying the timing or the interval. Aim To examine whether an evidence-based flexible approach based on individual patients' risk factors can add value to surveillance protocols.
