80 patients (P) (68 men and twelve women) with the diagnosis of delirium tremens were retrospectively analyzed and reexamined over a period of ten years (1974 to 1984). Included were only patients who--after failure of oral medication--required intravenous therapy with Chlomethiazol and thereby intensive care treatment. Mean age was 46.

The review of the pertinent literature and our case disclose 40 reports of familial plasmocytoma. It seems that genetic factors may play a role in the pathogenesis of plasmocytoma.

Problems concerning the radiological diagnosis of bleeding, malignant, small bowel tumours are discussed with reference to two cases. The need for early selective visceral angiography is stressed; the significance of contrast pooling is pointed out and the value of recognising the tumour in arriving at a diagnosis and prognosis is discussed. In the presence of negative angiographic findings the small bowel enema has proved a very valuable method of examination.

In a sample of 1.033 diabetic patients characteristics of 10 group specific systems (ABO, MNS, Rh, P, K and Fy blood groups and Hp, Gc and Gm serum types) were tested in order to verify any association of hereditary group specific traits and diabetes. The patients were subgrouped for sex, seriousness of diabetes, age of manifestation and body type.
