Purpose: The purpose of this systematic review is to compare the outcomes of open surgery versus arthroscopic surgery in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis, focusing on pain relief, functional recovery, complication rates, and patient satisfaction, in order to provide evidence-based recommendations for clinical practice and identify areas for future research.
Methods: The systematic review process was conducted according to the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. A systematic search was conducted across PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar, and Web of Science.
Refractory lateral epicondylitis poses significant challenges for patients and doctors. Whereas traditional surgical treatments involve open resection and extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB) muscle debridement, arthroscopic surgery advancements offer a more refined approach. Numerous surgical methods are used to treat lateral epicondylitis.

Herein, we constructed a Pt/CeO-N catalyst with an active interfacial perimeter, in which Pt species were partially embedded in the defective CeO-N support to prevent the sintering. A significant charge transfer between Pt species and ceria in the embedding structure occurred via the Pt-CeO interface, which induced the formation of a Pt-O-Ce interfacial structure.

Reduction of nucleus pulposus cells (NPC) and extracellular matrix (ECM) is the main feature of IDD, and NPC is the main source of ECM. Thermal apoptosis is a newly discovered form of cell death in recent years that differs significantly from apoptosis in terms of molecular mechanisms and cellular morphological changes.

Here, we demonstrate an auditory role for the saccule in the tokay gecko (Gekko gecko). The nucleus vestibularis ovalis (VeO) in the hindbrain exclusively receives input from the saccule and projects to the auditory midbrain, the torus semicircularis, via an ascending pathway parallel to cochlear pathways.

Purpose: To compare the difference of angle of the lower portion of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) measured via magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with and without partial anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears and to investigate the effectiveness of the angle of the lower portion of the PCL in diagnosing partial ACL tears.
Methods: From January 2022 to December 2022, a cohort of consecutive patients presenting with ACL tears who underwent ACL reconstruction and patients with isolated meniscus tears undergoing arthroscopic surgery were enroled for this study. The angle of the inferior portion of the PCL comprises α and β angles, and the posterior offset of the lateral condyle were measured on the MRI and compared between the partial ACL tear and control groups.

Objective: To assess the effectiveness of suture button fixation Latarjet procedure under total arthroscopy for anterior shoulder instability with severe bone defects.
Methods: The clinical data of 15 patients with severe bone defects and anterior shoulder instability treated with suture button fixation Latarjet procedure under total arthroscopy between June 2020 and February 2023 was retrospectively analyzed, including 11 males and 4 females, with an average age of 31.1 years (range, 20-54 years).
Background: Posterolateral tibial plateau compression fractures (PTPCF) are one of the significant factors leading to knee instability and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction failure. The effectiveness of fixation for such cases without the use of metal implants remains inconclusive. The aim of this study is to investigate whether the fixation with isolated bone grafting is stable enough for the treatment of PTPCF with concomitant ACL injuries.

The purpose of this study is to compare the outcomes of a standard arthroscopic débridement with ECRB tendon release to an arthroscopic ECRB tenotomy distal to its insertion without débridement using a retrospective cohort study design.
Methods: This study included patients underwent arthroscopic treatment of lateral epicondylitis during 2 different time periods: 2016-2019 (débridement) and 2019-2021 (modified tenotomy without débridement).
Rainfall kinetic energy (RKE) constitutes one of the most critical factors that drive rainfall erosivity on surface soil. Direct measurements of RKE are limited, relying instead on the empirical relations between kinetic energy and rainfall intensity ( relation), which have not been well regionalized for data-scarce regions. Here, we present the first global rainfall microphysics-based RKE () flux retrieved from radar reflectivity at different frequencies.

They are thought to primarily detect substrate vibration via connections between the lower jaw and the inner ear. We used the western rat snake (Pantherophis obsoletus) to determine how vibration is processed in the brain.

Background: Hemoporfin-mediated photodynamic therapy (Hemoporfin-PDT) has been approved for port-wine stain (PWS) in China in 2017. This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of Hemoporfin-PDT for PWS in a real life setting and investigated factors that influence the efficacy.
Methods: A multicenter retrospective study included patients with PWS who underwent Hemoporfin-PDT in 29 hospitals across China and completed at least two months of follow-up.
Background: Pediatric burns of all the ages are prevalent worldwide, posing a severe health risk to children. This study aims to examine pediatric burns' clinical characteristics and epidemiology in central China.
Methods: The pediatric patients of the Burn Research Center, Department of the First People's Hospital of Zhengzhou City from 2013 to 2019 were retrospectively studied and the relevant data were collected from the hospitalized medical records [e.
Ischiofemoral impingement (IFI) syndrome is considered the narrowing of the ischiofemoral space (IFS), leading to pathological changes in the quadratus femoris and sciatic nerve, causing posterior hip and sciatica-like pain. Open or arthroscopic resection of the lesser trochanter to enlarge the IFS is the main surgical procedure. However, there is a lack of research on isolated IFI, and currently known surgical procedures are at risk of weakening the flexion strength of the hip joint.

By manipulating the set of glycans displayed on cell surface, it is vital for gaining insight into the cellular behavior modulation and medical and biotechnological adhibition. Although genetic engineering is proven to be an effective approach for cell surface modification, the technique is only suitable for natural and genetically encoded molecules.

The incorporation of Mn species into CoO surface lattice could give rise to the local lattice distortion in spinel structure, resulting in highly exposed surface defect rather than bulk defect. More Co species were also exposed on the surface of MnO/CoO samples owing to the electron transfer from Co to Mn species by the occupation of surface Mn in octahedral Co sites.
