The Csa blood group antigen was identified more than 50 years ago but its genetic basis has yet to be elucidated. All our recent genomic investigation has failed to resolve the genetic basis of this enigmatic antigen. By investigating the association of the HNA-3a/b polymorphism (rs2288904-G/A) in SLC44A2 with clinical features of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), we incidentally discovered that rare subjects with the homozygous HNA-3b/b genotype also carry the uncommon Cs(a-) phenotype.

Currently, female breast cancer (BC) represents the highest incidence of cancer globally. This trend has raised significant attention regarding breast cancer young women (BCYW). With advancements in treatment technology, BCYW survivors are living longer; however, the risk of developing or succumbing to a second primary cancer (SPC) has greatly increased.

However, a universally accepted standard for treating radiation injury has not yet been established. Our objective was to provide a detailed molecular overview of skin pre- and post-radiation therapy, aiming to enhance our understanding of the subclusters and molecular mechanisms contributing to radiodermatitis.

These collision reports are heterogeneous containing a variety of accident factors.
Method: To describe the accident more elaborately, we add three new category variables: 'traffic control and status,' 'speed/speed change,' and 'type of accident location,' extracted from crash narratives.
Heart disease is the second leading cause of death in lung cancer (LC) patients, with postoperative cardiovascular disease (CVD) commonly linked to lymph node dissection (LND). This study aimed to clarify the optimal number of lymph nodes (LNs) to be dissected by investigating the impact of LND on CVD related death in patients with surgically resected non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). We analyzed data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database for a total of 154,566 patients with stage IA-IIIA NSCLC that underwent curative surgery from 2000 to 2020, and further validated using clinical data from a single-center cohort.

Our aim in this study was to explore the differences in cumulative risk of COVID-19 death from different cancer types and characterise clinical and demographic factors associated with COVID-19 death.
Methods: We conducted a population-based study using the National Cancer Database, which included all cancer types.
High-efficiency flotation of low-rank coal slime is an urgent problem to be solved in the comprehensive recycling and utilization of coal resources. The flotation results presented that the flotation effect of a single collector on low-rank coal slime was poor, which made it difficult to improve its flotation index. When dodecamine was added alone, the yield and ash of cleaned coal were higher at 79.

Therefore, to explore potential drug targets for interstitial lung disease (ILD). We investigated the interaction of ICB and RT in pulmonary AEs using the disproportionality analysis and COX regression.

Our previous studies showed f-EPS production from 937 was increased 2-fold in the presence of 15 mM of glutamate, isoleucine, and histidine in the chemically defined medium.
Methods: In this study, we used transcriptomics and qPCR to further explore the specific mechanism of the enhanced effect of 3 amino acids on the f-EPS biosynthesis of 937.
Eosinophilic solid and cystic renal cell carcinoma (ESC-RCC) is rare and often misdiagnosed as clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Therefore, a CT-based scoring system was developed to improve differential diagnosis. Retrospectively, 25 ESC-RCC and 176 ccRCC cases, were collected.

Additionally, decreased albumin levels are a marker of poor cancer prognosis. The neutrophil-percentage-to-albumin ratio (NPAR) has been used for prognostic assessment in non-cancerous diseases, but its relationship with mortality risk in cancer patients has not been explored.

Methods: Data from 95 patients with UDCFs (Neer II and V types) were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 55 cases were treated with clavicular hook plates (control group), and 40 cases with Endobutton plates (research group).
Flame retardant polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) accumulate in human bodies through food and dust ingestion, and cause neurobehavioral deficits with obscure mechanism. We aimed to investigate NMDAR-CaMKⅡγ-mediated synapse-to-nuclear communication involved in BDE-209-induced cognitive impairment, and alleviation from exogenous melatonin. Decreased NMDAR subunits GluN2A and 2B, autophosphorylation of CaMKⅡα, and postsynaptic GluA1 trafficking were observed in the hippocampus of juvenile rats after maternal BDE-209 exposure.

Methods: A Chinese family affected with Leigh syndrome which had attended the Reproductive Medicine Centre of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University in September 2021 was selected as the study subject. Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation was carried out for the proband after completing the detection of the mitochondrial DNA 8993T>G mutation load among the pedigree members.
A comprehensive understanding of the dynamic changes in plasma cells (PCs) during inflammation remains elusive. In this study, we analyzed the distinct responses of PCs across different phases of inflammation in a dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced mouse colitis model. Six-week-old male C57BL/6 mice were treated with 2.

Objective: This study aimed to establish and validate predictive models for AKI in hospitalized patients with CAP based on machine learning algorithms.
Methods: We trained and externally validated 5 machine learning algorithms, including logistic regression, support vector machine, random forest, extreme gradient boosting, and deep forest (DF).
Background: The relationship between serum klotho level and albuminuria is unknown in middle-aged and elderly participants without diabetes mellitus (DM). Therefore, we will investigate the association between serum klotho level and albuminuria in middle-aged and elderly participants without DM.
Methods: Participants (aged 40-79) were from the five continuous cycles (2007-2016) of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).
A high degree of hydrolysis can reduce the allergenicity of milk, while lactic acid bacteria (LAB) fermentation can further enhance the antioxidant ability of enzymatic milk. LAB with a strong antioxidant ability was screened, and the effects of LAB on the bitterness, taste and flavor of enzymatic skim milk (ESM) with a high degree of hydrolysis were investigated in this paper, in addition to the response surface methodology optimized the conditions of the LAB fermentation of ESM. The results indicate that the skim milk hydrolyzed by Protamex has a higher degree of hydrolysis and lower bitterness.
