Scaling relations reveal global and regional differences in morphometry of reservoirs and natural lakes.

Water bodies provide essential ecosystem services linked to morphometric features that might differ between natural lakes and reservoirs. We use the HydroLAKES global dataset to quantitatively compare large (area > 1 km) reservoirs and natural lakes in terms of scaling exponents between morphometric measures (volume, area, shore length). These exponents are further compared to those expected from geometrical assumptions and constraints.

Investigating on the Residue of Organophosphate Pesticides in the Water of the Hablehrood River, Garmsar, Iran.

Background: Organophosphate pesticides are of concern to the drinking water supply and high risks on human health.

Methods: An occurrence survey was performed in the spring and summer of 2016 for 6 months to assess the prevalence of organophosphate pesticides in the Hablehrood River that is located in Semnan Province. Besides, 10 kinds of organophosphate pesticides were sampled in 5 stations.

Basic Occupational Health Services for Agricultural Workers in the South of Iran.

The agricultural sector has by far the world's largest labour force, there are more than one billion workers in this industry worldwide, which contains half of the total world labour force. On the other hand, agriculture is one of the most hazardous occupations, and many workers suffer occupational accidents and ill health each year. Farming and animal breeding are associated with exposure to a wide variety of risk factors, including zoonotic agents, dust, elements of the thermal environment, noise, vibration and chemicals.

Development of a new method for sampling and monitoring oncology staff exposed to cyclophosphamide drug.

Treatment using cytotoxic drugs is considered to be the most common treatment for cancers. However, the widespread use of these drugs on the health status of the staff at the oncology department has become a great concern. Due to challenges of sampling and analysis of cytotoxic drugs, the aim of this study was to development a novel practical method called Needle trap devices (NTD) for sampling and analysis of personal exposure to cyclophosphamide drug.

Evaluation of exposure to the airborne asbestos in an asbestos cement sheet manufacturing industry in Iran.

Iran imports nearly 55,000 tons of Chrysotile asbestos per year and asbestos cement (AC) plants contribute nearly 94% of the total national usage. In the present study, airborne asbestos concentrations during AC sheet manufacturing were measured. The fiber type and its chemical composition were also evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), with energy-dispersive X-ray analysis.

Health-related quality of life in a sample of Iranian patients on hemodialysis.

Introduction: This study evaluated the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in a sample of Iranian patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. The data were compared with the HRQOL for the Iranian general population.

Materials And Methods: Two-hundred and fifty patients undergoing hemodialysis were included using a convenience sampling approach in a cross-sectional study.
