Palliative care (PC) focuses on the body, mind, and spirit and can also provide pain and symptom relief, clarifying and focusing the provision of care on the patient's desires and goals, and helping them understand their disease and its treatment plans. Although PC is widely recognized for its applicability near the end of life or during terminal illness, it is also applicable and beneficial for patients with diseases in their earlier stages. Near the end of life, palliative care often focuses on providing continual symptom management and supportive care.

Aim: The study was designed to establish the relationship between hamstrings-quadriceps (H-Q) strength ratio and the performance of tasks in Berg's Balance Scale among stroke survivors.

Method: Twenty-five stroke survivors participated in the study. The hamstrings and quadriceps muscle strengths of both the paretic and non-paretic sides were determined at 60° knee flexion with an electronic tensiometer.

Introduction: Shared decision making (SDM) is widely affirmed as an ethical principle in healthcare; underpinned by both evidence of its positive outcomes among patients and strong inducements for its adoption by health professionals. This study investigated patients' involvement in SDM, determined its association with their personal characteristics and identified factors influencing their participation.
