- Narrow-track tractors used in vineyards and orchards can have a foldable rollover protective structure (ROPS) to protect drivers during overturns, but they often stay in the non-protective horizontal position due to manual handling difficulties.
- Many drivers neglect to switch the rollbar to the vertical position, resulting in serious rollover accidents that can be fatal.
- The OECD has updated its guidelines to include a test for manual handling of these rollbars but the standard limit of 100 N for load handling is considered insufficient compared to existing standards for similar tasks, which allow for higher loads.
