This study examines the effect of one of three sources of information: a politician (authority figure), a physician (expert), and an ordinary person (non-expert) who appeared in a personal story related to a controversial issue (COVID-19 vaccination) on Facebook, on the willingness to engage with it. Using a between-subjects experiment (N = 848) conducted among Israeli adults (18 and older), we found a higher likelihood of sharing the story in interpersonal conversations than in other types of communications, regardless of the source that appeared in the story. However, respondents with high levels of institutional trust preferred sharing a politician's story, while conspiracy believers tended to comment on an ordinary person's story.

During hematopoiesis, megakaryocytic erythroid progenitors (MEPs) differentiate into megakaryocytic or erythroid lineages in response to specific transcriptional factors, yet the regulatory mechanism remains to be elucidated. Using the MEP‑like cell line HEL western blotting, RT‑qPCR, lentivirus‑mediated downregulation, flow cytometry as well as chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIp) assay demonstrated that the E26 transformation‑specific (ETS) transcription factor friend leukemia integration factor 1 (Fli‑1) inhibits erythroid differentiation. The present study using these methods showed that while FLI1‑mediated downregulation of GATA binding protein 1 (GATA1) suppresses erythropoiesis, its direct transcriptional induction of GATA2 promotes megakaryocytic differentiation.

Background: FLI1 is an oncogenic transcription factor that promotes diverse malignancies through mechanisms that are not fully understood. Herein, FLI1 is shown to regulate the expression of Ubiquitin Associated and SH3 Domain Containing A/B (UBASH3A/B) genes. UBASH3B and UBASH3A are found to act as an oncogene and tumor suppressor, respectively, and their combined effect determines erythroleukemia progression downstream of FLI1.

The non-canonical translation initiation factor EIF4G2 plays essential roles in cellular stress responses via translation of selective mRNA cohorts. Currently there is limited and conflicting information regarding its involvement in cancer development and progression.
