Lung fluid levels of immunoglobulin G (IgG) specific for pneumococcal capsular polysaccharide are not reduced in HIV-infected subjects; therefore, we examined immunoglobulin subtypes and compared lung fluid IgG opsonic function in HIV-infected subjects with that in healthy subjects.
