Background: Hospitalizations are a major burden for both patients and society but are potentially preventable. We examined the one-year hospitalization burden in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and compared hospitalization rates and patterns with those undergoing isolated surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR).
Methods: Using Danish nationwide registries, we identified patients who underwent first-time TAVR and isolated SAVR (2008-2019), respectively.
Importance: Alopecia areata (AA) carries a psychological burden for patients beyond hair loss. However, quality-of-life measurement tools such as EQ-5D used in clinical trials may not adequately capture the burden of AA, the perceived stigmatization or the psychosocial impact of AA.
Objective: To investigate the potential association between disease severity and the degree of social isolation, perceived stigmatization, anxiety and depression, alcohol consumption and work absenteeism using multiple PRO measures in patients with AA.
Background: Flare patterns are not routinely considered in the severity classification or in clinical decision-making of atopic dermatitis (AD), but frequent or severe flares may contribute considerably to the disease burden.
Objectives: To characterize patients with AD in relation to their flare pattern and compare flare patterns to disease severity, life quality and treatment satisfaction.
Methods: Patients with AD from the Danish Skin Cohort were included if they had active AD with and available data on number of flare-ups within the last 12 months.
Background: Topical corticosteroids (TCS) are used to treat most patients with chronic hand eczema (CHE), but knowledge about TCS-related adverse events in CHE is limited.
Objectives: To investigate patient-reported adverse events to TCS in CHE patients.
Methods: Data on adverse events related to TCS use in patients with CHE were analyzed from the Danish Skin Cohort; a prospective survey of a hospital cohort.
The European Medicines Agency recently limited the use of oral Janus kinase inhibitors in certain patient populations, including those with atopic dermatitis. This cross-sectional study used the Danish national registers and Danish Skin Cohort to assess the prevalence of risk factors that potentially impact choice of treatment with oral Janus kinase inhibitors in adult patients with atopic dermatitis. From the Danish national registers and Danish Skin Cohort, 18,618 and 3,573 adults with atopic dermatitis, respectively, were identified.

Objective: To investigate the associated risk between new-onset psoriasis and TNFi treatment compared with nonbiologic conventional treatment.
The glycome undergoes characteristic changes during histogenesis and organogenesis, but our understanding of the importance of select glycan structures for tissue formation and homeostasis is incomplete. Here, we present a human organotypic platform that allows genetic dissection of cellular glycosylation capacities and systematic interrogation of the roles of distinct glycan types in tissue formation. We used CRISPR-Cas9 gene targeting to generate a library of 3D organotypic skin tissues that selectively differ in their capacity to produce glycan structures on the main types of N- and O-linked glycoproteins and glycolipids.

However, data comparing these agents in patients with T2D who are at moderate risk is sparse.
Methods: From Danish national registries, we included patients with T2D previously on metformin monotherapy, who started an additional glucose-lowering agent [GLP-1 RA, SGLT-2 inhibitor, dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, sulfonylurea (SU), or insulin] in the period 2010-2016.
