Background: The prognosis of breast cancer (BC) is in part determined by the stage at diagnosis and its pathological characteristics.
Aim: To evaluate the association between survival of women with metastatic breast cancer and pathological features of the tumor.
Patients And Methods: We obtained clinical and pathological data from patients diagnosed with a metastatic BC between 1999 and 2013.
Severe adenovirus (ADV) infections have become increasingly important in immunocompromised patients, mainly in pediatric stem cell transplant recipients. We report a case of disseminated ADV infection leading to death in a 12-year-old stem cell transplant recipient. The diagnosis was confirmed by viral isolation and viral genome detection in tissues and blood.

Just a few cases have been reported previously. We report a case of primary endocarditis of the mitral valve caused by Actinomyces sp diagnosed at necropsy in a 34 year-old man with history of chronic rheumatic disease presenting as a usual case of infective endocarditis.

The case of a 7 month-old baby boy is presented, with a history of several weeks of evolution of personality changes, convulsions and fever. While he was hospitalized, the brain image study showed multifocal cavity lesions, which varied from millimeters to 4 cm of diameter, not producing mass effect. Their biopsy revealed necrotizing encephalitis.
