Implementation of FAIR principles in the IPCC: the WGI AR6 Atlas repository.

The Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has adopted the FAIR Guiding Principles. We present the Atlas chapter of Working Group I (WGI) as a test case. We describe the application of the FAIR principles in the Atlas, the challenges faced during its implementation, and those that remain for the future.

Prevalence of pressure injuries among critically ill patients and factors associated with their occurrence in the intensive care unit: The PRESSURE study.

Background: The prevalence of pressure injuries (PIs) in critically ill patients has been extensively studied, but there is uncertainty regarding the risk factors. The main objective of this study was to describe the prevalence of PIs in critically ill patients. Secondary objectives were to describe PI, use of preventive measures for PI, and factors associated with occurrence of PI in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Endobronchial Lipoma: Case Report and Literature Review.

Endobronchial lipomas are rare benign tumors that can cause bronchial obstruction resulting in significant symptoms and post-obstructive parenchymal damage. Accurate diagnosis and treatment are essential to avoid unnecessary morbidity and mortality in these patients. We describe one case of endobronchial lipoma at our institution and include a literature review of endobronchial lipoma cases reported during the time period 2003-2018.

An Unusual Case of Left Sinus of Valsalva Rupture Into Right Atrium.

A 19-year-old college athlete presented with dyspnea and was found to have left sinus of Valsalva rupture into the right atrium on a transesophageal echocardiogram that was verified on coronary angiogram and computed tomography heart scan. The patient subsequently underwent surgical resection. ().

Projected polar bear sea ice habitat in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago.

Background: Sea ice across the Arctic is declining and altering physical characteristics of marine ecosystems. Polar bears (Ursus maritimus) have been identified as vulnerable to changes in sea ice conditions. We use sea ice projections for the Canadian Arctic Archipelago from 2006 - 2100 to gain insight into the conservation challenges for polar bears with respect to habitat loss using metrics developed from polar bear energetics modeling.

An unusual case of unilateral pulmonary edema with contralateral bronchial obstruction.

A 61 year-old man presented with progressive shortness of breath. Computed tomography scan of the chest showed diffuse ground glass infiltrates and dilated pulmonary vessels in the right lung in addition to bilateral pulmonary masses with obstruction of the left main pulmonary bronchus. The patient underwent bronchoscopy with destruction of the tumor obstructing the left main pulmonary bronchus, resulting in clinical improvement and resolution of the right pulmonary infiltrates.

Successful treatment of Helicobacter pylori-negative gastric MALT lymphoma with rituximab.

Helicobacter pylori infection is strongly associated with low-grade gastric lymphoma, commonly known as mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma. H. pylori eradication leads to complete remission in 80% of early stage MALT lymphomas.

Qualitative assessment of cervical spinal stenosis: observer variability on CT and MR images.

Background And Purpose: Several studies have been undertaken to validate quantitative methods of evaluating cervical spinal stenosis. This study was performed to assess the degree of interobserver and intraobserver agreement in the qualitative evaluation of cervical spinal stenosis on CT myelograms and MR images.
