Gallbladder pathology is among the most common etiologies and can include cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, choledocholithiasis, and cholangitis, among others. Mirizzi syndrome is a complication that manifests as hepatobiliary dysfunction due to a gallstone causing extrinsic compression of the common bile duct.
