Hidden Kiss: A Rare Case of Spontaneous Suprachoroidal Hemorrhage Masquerading as Vitreous Hemorrhage Causing Secondary Angle-Closure Glaucoma.

Suprachoroidal hemorrhage (SCH) is an uncommon sight-threatening pathology, most often encountered intraoperatively. However, spontaneous presentation of SCH is even rarer. We report the case of a 69-year-old diabetic patient with spontaneous SCH (SSCH) in her left eye masquerading as a vitreous hemorrhage.

Teleophthalmology with optical coherence tomography imaging in community optometry. Evaluation of a quality improvement for macular patients.

Purpose: To describe a quality improvement for referral of National Health Service patients with macular disorders from a community optometry setting in an urban area.

Methods: Service evaluation of teleophthalmology consultation based on spectral domain optical coherence tomography images acquired by the community optometrist and transmitted to hospital eye services.

Results: Fifty patients with suspected macular conditions were managed via telemedicine consultation over 1 year.

Treatment of dry eye: an analysis of the British Sjögren's syndrome association comparing substitute tear viscosity and subjective efficacy.

Purpose: This study aims to address the lack of independent subjective efficacy data on artificial tear substitutes in the treatment of dry eye due to the anecdotal association of 'thicker' products being more effective.

Methods: This is an independent study of the subjective use and efficacy of topical treatments used by members of the British Sjögren's Syndrome Association (BSSA) related to product viscosity. 2000 members of the BSSA were sent a questionnaire regarding their physical condition and the use of artificial tear substitutes.

Iatrogenic eyelid granulomata.

The authors report a possible association between posaconazole, a new systemic antifungal, and eyelid granulomata. A 12-year-old boy presented with a 2-week history of bilateral eyelid granulomata. They were noted to reduce in size and symptoms when posaconazole was discontinued.

Acute panuveitis with hypopyon in Crohn's disease secondary to medical therapy: a case report.

Methods: A 56 year old male presented with a one day history of blurred vision in his right eye. He had an established diagnosis of Crohn's disease which was in remission following treatment with rifabutin and clarithromycin. A brisk anterior uveitis with hypopyon and a mild vitritis was detected in the right eye.

Principles of disability glare measurement: an ophthalmological perspective.

Disability glare describes the loss of retinal image contrast as a result of intraocular light scatter, or straylight. It has increasingly important modern implications such as with cataract and refractive surgery or high-intensity lighting. However, its measurement has proven difficult despite many varying approaches.
