Myopericytoma arising adjacent to the common carotid artery: Case report and systematic review of deep located neck myopericytomas.

Background: Myopericytoma is a perivascular tumor of the skin and subcutaneous tissue of the extremities, it is a rare finding in the head and neck, and even rarer is its deep location.

Methods: A 38-year-old woman presented with a slowly growing mass at the right carotid triangle. Contrast-enhanced CT scan revealed a moderately enhancing mass.
