In some industry segments, more than 70% of leadership positions are held by men. This can often lead to the suggestion that men are more successful in leadership roles, particularly in areas where women are viewed to have no practical experience. Unfortunately, it is often difficult to find women and men in leadership positions where performance of the leader can be objectively evaluated, which can make it likewise difficult to establish if the gender identity of a leader makes a measurable difference.

Unlabelled: Pre-war baseball attendance data afford a unique opportunity to assess how leisure spending fared not only through deflation but also after such shocks as the Spanish Flu of 1918 and the 1929 Wall Street Crash. Long-run analysis via a vector error correction model (VECM) reveals significant cointegration of baseball attendance with both prices and output. A long-run positive relationship with prices offers evidence of a negative impact of deflation on leisure spending, suggesting that deflation is indeed more to be feared than inflation.

While there has been research into what teams, leagues, and athletes post on social media and the impact of post content on social media engagement, there is limited understanding and empirical research on the impact of broadcasting media on social sport consumption. There are an increasing number of new media through which sport leagues can distribute their content to fans. This research examines the impact of different broadcast platforms on game day engagement with WNBA team Twitter accounts.
