A total of 4,060 adult heart transplants from June 1, 2006, to December 31, 2019, were identified in the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients database as having TPMCS. Recipients were divided into groups based on their type of TPMCS: intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), temporary ventricular assist device (VAD), biventricular assist device (BIVAD), and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

Methods: The National Cancer Database was queried for all cases of primary invasive TC without distant metastatic disease between 2004 and 2015.
