A practical and efficient synthesis of the C8-C23 fragment of antarlides A-H, incorporating six stereocenters and a conjugated diene, is reported. A strategic combination of synthetic methods, including CBS reduction, Evans' aldol reaction, Keck-Maruoka allylation, and enzymatic resolution, enabled the selective introduction of these stereocenters. Furthermore, the pivotal coupling of key fragments is successfully executed through a Julia-Kocienski olefination reaction, connecting the C8-C14 and C15-C23 subunits.

Vitamin D is proposed to have a protective effect against cardiovascular disease, though the mechanism is unclear. Vitamin D deficiency is common in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), where it is strongly related to obesity, insulin resistance (IR) and risk of cardiovascular disease. To determine if the inherent pathophysiology of PCOS or vitamin D levels are linked to dysregulation of cardiovascular risk proteins (CVRPs), a study in non-obese women with PCOS and without IR was undertaken.

Introduction: Long saphenous vein grafts (LSVGs) are pivotal conduits in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), yet concerns persist regarding early failure and long-term patency. Endothelial damage, a potent initiator of graft failure, necessitates exploration of factors contributing to endothelial injury during LSVG preparation.

Methods: A prospective, single-center study was conducted, assessing the impact of unregulated distension pressure on LSVG endothelium during CABG.

This study introduces a novel Hybrid Ensemble Machine-Learning (HEML) algorithm to merge long-term satellite-based reanalysis precipitation products (SRPPs), enabling the estimation of super drought events in the Lake Victoria Basin (LVB) during the period of 1984 to 2019. This study considers three widely used Machine learning (ML) models, including RF (Random Forest), GBM (Gradient Boosting Machine), and KNN (k-nearest Neighbors), for the emerging HEML approach. The three SRPPs, including CHIRPS (Climate Hazards Group Infra-Red Precipitation with Station), ERA5-Land, and PERSIANN-CDR (Precipitation Estimation from Remotely Sensed Information using Artificial Neural Network-Climate Data Record), were used to merge for developing new precipitation estimates from HEML model.

K^{+}K^{-} pairs may be produced in photonuclear collisions, either from the decays of photoproduced ϕ(1020) mesons or directly as nonresonant K^{+}K^{-} pairs. Measurements of K^{+}K^{-} photoproduction probe the couplings between the ϕ(1020) and charged kaons with photons and nuclear targets. The kaon-proton scattering occurs at energies far above those available elsewhere.
