Background: To assess the quality of endodontic record-keeping and root canal obturation performed by undergraduate final year dental students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Materials And Methods: Dental records and dental radiographs of patients who received endodontic treatments between March 2020 and March 2022 by undergraduate students during the COVID-19 pandemic were included. The audit data were collected based on the European Society of Endodontology guidelines retrospectively via assessing the patient's clinical records and intraoral periapical radiograph.

This can lead to multiple pulmonary complications including lung injury, pneumothorax, pneumonia, empyema and diaphragmatic injury. We present the case of an 80 year-old female who required an NGT insertion for severe oropharyngeal dysphagia from an acute stroke.

An Insight into the Role of Marine Biopolymer Alginate in Endodontics: A Review.

Alginate is a natural marine biopolymer that has been widely used in biomedical applications, but research on its use as an endodontic material is still sparse in the literature. This pioneer review aims to summarize the emerging roles of alginate and to outline its prospective applications as a core biomaterial in endodontics. Ten electronic databases and five textbooks were used to perform a search of English-language literature on the use of alginate in endodontics published between January 1980 and June 2022.

Severe Nocardia pneumonia in an immunocompromised patient with alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.

Pulmonary nocardiosis is an uncommon pulmonary infection that is more likely found in immunocompromised patients with underlying chronic lung disease. The presentation of pulmonary nocardiosis is widely variable and shares features with other types of pulmonary infections. Nocardia is also not as easily isolated on standard culture mediums and hence more difficult to identify.

A randomised, double-blinded clinical study on the efficacy of multimedia presentation using an iPad for patient education of postoperative hip surgery patients in a public hospital in Singapore.

Introduction: This study compared patient satisfaction and recall of physiotherapy patient education among patients who had undergone hip surgery, with information presented via an iPad versus a standard paper booklet.

Methods: Patients who had undergone hip surgery joined and completed this single-centre study, which utilised a randomised parallel group design. They were randomly allocated to either Group A (received information on hip surgery physiotherapy via an iPad) or Group B (received the same information via a paper booklet).
