Unveiling antimicrobial activity of microalgae (UKM2), sp. (UKM8) and sp. (UKM9).

Microalgae represent promising sources of bioactive compounds for pharmaceutical and industrial applications. The emergence of antibiotic resistant bacteria leads to the need to explore new cost-effective, safe, and potent bioactive compounds from the microalgae. This study aimed to investigate the potential of local microalgae for their antimicrobial properties and bioactive compounds.

Data on Fourier transform-infrared of Kunth. tissues analyzed with chemometric analysis.

In this dataset, we differentiate four different tissues of Kunth (leaves, flowers, stem and root) obtained from UKM Bangi plot, based on Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy. Different tissues of demonstrated the position and intensity of characteristic peaks at 4000-450 cm. Principal component analysis (PCA) shows three main groups were formed.
