Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is a common skin malignancy that can present reconstructive challenges in patients with locally advanced diseases of the extremities. This article highlights three cases of locally advanced BCC of the extremities managed with vismodegib (Erivedge, Genentech). Vismodegib is a sonic hedgehog pathway (Shh) inhibitor approved by the FDA for use in metastatic or recurrent BCC.

Angiotensin II (Ang II) AT(1) receptors are involved in the regulation of the stress response. In adult male rats, acute restraint increased AT(1A) mRNA in paraventricular nucleus. Repeated restraint increased AT(1A) mRNA and AT(1) binding in paraventricular nucleus and AT(1) binding in subfornical organ and median eminence.
