Objectives: The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the efficacy of Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) antibacterial solution in penetrating the demineralized areas of enamel.
Materials And Methods: It was considered a group of four extracted teeth (with no color fading, fissures, decay, or demineralization). Each tooth was sectioned in two equal parts, in mesio-distal direction, using a dental handpiece and a special rounded, flat bur.
In this paper, we explore the possibility of applying the anisotropic generalized Hough transform (AGHT) enhanced with a Gabor based time-frequency filtering (GTF) for the determination of the mandibular canal in digital dental panoramic radiographs. The proposed method is based on template matching using the fact that the shape of the mandibular canal is usually the same, followed by a filtering of the accumulator space in the Gabor domain for a precise detection of the position. The proposed procedure consists of a detailed description of the shape of the canal in its canonical form and on preserving Gabor filtering information for sorting the hierarchy of location candidates after applying anisotropically the extraction algorithm.

This article deals with the use of optimal lattice and optimal window in Discrete Gabor Transform computation. In the case of a generalized Gaussian window, extending earlier contributions, we introduce an additional local window adaptation technique for non-stationary signals. We illustrate our approach and the earlier one by addressing three time-frequency analysis problems to show the improvements achieved by the use of optimal lattice and window: close frequencies distinction, frequency estimation and SNR estimation.
