Urokinase receptor (uPAR) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored receptor of urokinase (uPA), which is involved in brain development, nerve regeneration, wound healing and tissue remodeling. We have recently shown that , which encodes uPAR, is an early response gene in murine brain.
