Moral sensitivity as a personal and work attribute of emergency care nurses: a cross-sectional study.

Objective: to analyze the moral sensitivity of Brazilian emergency care nurses according to their personal and work characteristics.

Method: this is a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study with a convenience sample. A total of 422 nurses from emergency care services in the five regions of Brazil took part.

Decision making by health professionals during COVID-19: an integrative review.

Objective: To analyze the scientific production on the decision making of health workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: Integrative review in the databases CINAHL, MEDLINE, Scopus, ScienceDirect, WoS, and BVS. Inclusion criteria: original articles available in full, in any language, related to the object investigated.

Integrative reviews in Brazilian nursing postgraduation programs: a bibliometric study.

Objectives: to analyze the Brazilian scientific integrative review production in postgraduation nursing programs.

Methods: bibliometric design, carried out in the database of dissertations and theses of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, in October 2018.

Results: 35 dissertations and 1 thesis were found.

Needs for family caregivers of Cerebrovascular Accident survivors.

Objectives: To know the needs of family caregivers of Cerebrovascular Accident survivors.

Methods: This is a qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory study. Data were collected from 37 family caregivers of Cerebrovascular Accident survivors from a city in the interior of Bahia, through an interview using a semi-structured form, between September 2017 and March 2018, and submitted to thematic content analysis.

Repercussions of intestinal ostomy on male sexuality: an integrative review.

Objective: To analyze scientific productions about the repercussions of intestinal ostomy on male sexuality and discuss its implications for planning nursing care.

Method: Integrative literature review conducted in the databases Scientific Electronic Library Online, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Sciverse Scopus, Web of Science, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature and National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health, with no pre-established time frame and using the descriptors "sexuality," "ostomy," "colostomy," "men" and "nursing."

Results: 21 articles were included to compose the interpretative analysis.

Nurses' moral deliberation in the child care process.

Objective: To understand the nurses' moral deliberation in the face of an ethical problem involving breastfeeding.

Method: Qualitative study based on the methodological theoretical framework of deliberative bioethics. Data collection was through a vignette-based interview and results were organized by thematic analysis.

[Interventions for stroke survivor caregivers: a systematic reviewIntervenciones para los cuidadores de los sobrevivientes de un accidente cerebrovascular: revisión sistemática].

Objective: To synthesize and critically review the literature on interventions aimed at decreasing the burden of stroke survivor caregivers and other associated factors.

Method: The literature search for the present systematic review was performed in PubMed, SciELO, Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) website, and the Virtual Health Library using the following search terms: Stroke AND Caregivers AND Intervention; and Stroke AND Caregivers AND clinical trial. Eight randomized controlled clinical trials (RCT) published between 2008 and 2017 were selected.

Nurses performance in clinical ethics committees and commissions: An integrative review.

Background: The research on nursing professionals in Clinical Ethics Committees and Nursing Ethics Commissions occurs in different parts of the world; however, little information on this subject is found in the literature.

Objective: This study analyzed national and international publications in relation to the participation of nursing professionals in Clinical Ethics Committees.

Research Design: This was an integrative review of articles published in national and international journals between 1994 and 2016 which described the participation of nursing professionals in ethics commissions.

Association between social support and quality of life of relative caregivers of elderly dependents.

Objective: to ascertain the association between the social support and the quality of life of relative caregivers of elderly dependents at home.

Method: a cross-sectional study conducted with 58 relative caregivers of elderly dependents, registered in the Family Health Strategy. Data were collected from the Katz instrument, sociodemographic, Zarit Burden Interview, WHOQOL-bref, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression.

Ethical implications and decision making in care education process.

Objective: To determine ethical implications for nursing practice at the point of decision making by nursing professors in practice area.

Methodology: A qualitative method was adopted, with use of semistructured interviews with sixteen nursing professors who delivered care at a teaching hospital in Salvador, Bahia, from May to June 2011. The methodological reference used was the discourse of the collective subject (DCS) by Lefévre and Lefévre.

Expansion of higher education in Brazil: increase in the number of Undergraduate Nursing courses.

Objective: This study analyzed the increase in the number of undergraduate nursing courses during the last two decades due to the expansion of higher education in Brazil.

Method: A records-based research concerning the legal frameworks that have driven this movement and a quantitative research that described the increase in the number of professional nursing courses. Data were analyzed using thematic content analysis (qualitative) and descriptive statistics (quantitative).

[The life meaning of the parents of the critical patient].

This study emerged from the reflection of my nursing professional experiences. The objectives were to understand the life meaning of critical patients' relatives, in view of the Tragic Triad: guilt, suffering, and death; to identify the contents of these individuals' life meanings, based on Existential Analysis. The methodological trajectory implied the qualitative approach and content analysis.

[The ethic dimension of daily tasks in the formation process of nurses].

This theoretical article had as its object of study the ethic dimension of the formation process of nurses taking in consideration the National Curricular Directives for Nursing Courses. It was based on the presuppositions of ethics and their relationship with the implementation of changes in the formation process of nurses, using as reference elements of ethical behavior in the formation and attempting to bring the reflection to current times and thus contribute to define a direction to Nursing education. It was concluded that the ethical dimension in the formation of nurses involves values that permeate the relations between the subjects of this process and nature itself.

[Health/nursing teaching in a new proposal of academic restructuration].

This study has as objective the presentation of a proposal of curricular restructure, evaluating its influence in the health instruction, focusing the nursing school. It presents, initially, the real panorama of superior education in Brazil. After that, it shows one curricular restructure proposal.

[Strategies for the implementation of a new pedagogical proposal at the Nursing School of the Federal University of Bahia].

This article reflects on the process of designing the Pedagogical Project for the Nursing School from Federal University of Bahia. The socialization of this experience intends to contribute with other nursing institutions which, in order to meet new curricular requirements (DCENF--National Curricular Guidelines for Nursing, Medicine, and Nutrition Undergraduate Programs), are going to experience similar processes or which are presently going through the same process. This article includes some historical features and the legal basis for changes, by presenting the reasons for the current proposal, as well as its curricular organization, the main challenges and some strategies for overcoming them.
