Background: Informal caregivers of persons living with dementia are increasingly using mobile health (mHealth) apps to obtain care information. mHealth apps are seen as promising tools to better support caregivers' complex and evolving information needs. Yet, little is known about the types and quality of dementia care information that these apps provide.

Simultaneous bilateral midshaft clavicle fractures (Allman Type I): Case series.

Rationale: A simultaneous bilateral fracture of the middle clavicle is a very rare injury in clinical practice, and the necessity of surgical intervention and treatment modality remains a topic of debate.

Patient Concerns: We report a case of multiple injuries in a 40-year-old woman following a road traffic accident and another case of polytrauma in a 46-year-old man following a collision injury.

Diagnoses: The radiographs of the bilateral shoulder joints and the 3-dimensional reconstruction CT of the chest showed the fractures in the middle third of the clavicle on both sides.

Ovarian cancer (OvCa) patients encounter complex treatment decisions, and often have difficulties in searching and integrating online health information to guide their treatment decision-making. The objective of this study was to explore the preference of online health information among OvCa patients and caregivers, by exploring their preferred content, format, and function features for the design of a personalized recommender system. This study used qualitative research methods to collect data through in-depth interviews with 18 OvCa patients and 2 caregivers.

Women with ovarian cancer's information seeking and avoidance behaviors: an interview study.

Objectives: Despite the importance of using information for ovarian cancer (OvCa) disease management and decision-making, some women with OvCa do not actively seek out information. The purpose of this study is to investigate factors that influence information seeking behaviors and information avoidance behaviors and information resources among women with OvCa and their caregivers.

Background: Intimate partner violence (IPV) is an underreported public health crisis primarily affecting women associated with severe health conditions and can lead to a high rate of homicide. Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, more women with IPV experiences visited online health communities (OHCs) to seek help because of anonymity. However, little is known regarding whether their help requests were answered and whether the information provided was delivered in an appropriate manner.

Translation and Expansion: Enabling Laypeople Access to the COVID-19 Academic Collection.

Academic collections, such as COVID-19 Open Research Dataset (CORD-19), contain a large number of scholarly articles regarding COVID-19 and other related viruses. These articles represent the latest development in combating COVID-19 pandemic in various disciplines. However, it is difficult for laypeople to access these articles due to the term mismatch problem caused by their limited medical knowledge.

Global health crises are also information crises: A call to action.

In this opinion paper, we argue that global health crises are also crises. Using as an example the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic, we (a) examine challenges associated with what we term "global crises"; (b) recommend changes needed for the field of information science to play a leading role in such crises; and (c) propose actionable items for short- and long-term research, education, and practice in information science.

Dammarane-Type Triterpenoids from the Roots of and Their Preventive Effects on Zebrafish Heart Failure and Thrombosis.

Eight new dammarane-type triterpenoids (-), together with a related known analogue (), were isolated from the roots of , a traditional Chinese medicine for treating coronary artery heart disease, guided by LC-MS analysis. Their structures were elucidated based on extensive spectroscopic analysis and quantum chemical calculations. Notably, compounds - and possess an unusual 17side chain, and -, , and contain an uncommon 3-methyl-5,6-dihydro-2-pyran-2-one moiety in the side chain.
