Objective: To improve the predictability of outcomes in robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy, we utilized three-dimensional virtual imaging for SPARE nephrometry scoring. We compared this method with a conventional two-dimensional scoring system to determine whether 3D virtual images offer enhanced predictive accuracy for Tetrafecta outcomes.

Methods: We retrospectively collected basic information, demographic data, and perioperative indices from patients who underwent robot-assisted partial nephrectomy for renal masses at the Department of Urology, First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University.

Chromium (VI) (Cr(VI)) generally coexists with organic dyes in industrial effluents, posing a formidable challenge in water purification. Herein, NH-MIL-125(Ti)/TiO Z-scheme heterojunction with intimate interfacial contact was synthesized for synchronous removal of pollutant in coexisting Cr(VI)/dyes system under simulated solar irradiation. Structural and optical investigations indicated that a well-defined interface was formed by establishing a Ti-N-C bond, facilitating the spatial separation of the photoexcited carriers of the Z-scheme heterojunction.

A high-capacity and rate capability anode material is highly desired to improve the export performance of aqueous alkaline batteries (AABs). Due to the 3-electrons redox chemistry within a wide negative potential range, bismuth (Bi) based compounds are promising candidates as anode materials in AABs. A hybrid composed of different Bi-based compounds is envisioned to further reinforce the faradaic activity and affinity for electrolyte ions, thereby maximizing the charge storage capacity.

  • Cost aggregation is essential for stereo matching, and this paper introduces a Disparity Context Aggregation (DCA) module to enhance CNN-based methods by leveraging disparity classification.
  • The DCA module classifies image pixels into disparity classes, allowing for the creation of homogeneous region representations that streamline cost aggregation and improve matching accuracy.
  • Integrated into various network architectures, the DCA module operates efficiently with minimal additional requirements, and the resulting network, DCANet, demonstrates superior performance on benchmark tests.

IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is a chronic glomerular disease characterized by the deposition of IgA antibodies in the kidney's mesangium. Its pathogenesis involves genetic, immune, and environmental factors, particularly within the mucosal immune system and gut microbiota. Immune cells play a central role in mediating these processes, which this study investigates using Mendelian Randomization (MR) to explore causal relationships among gut microbiota, inflammatory markers, blood cells, and immune cells in IgAN pathogenesis.

Magnetic polyimide (PI) nanosheet strings were prepared by wrapping PI nanosheets around the γ-FeO nanowires. The γ-FeO/PIs composite was successfully used for magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) of anabolic androgenic steroids (AASs). The γ-FeO/PIs composite possessed adequate saturation magnetic strength (8.

The application of Fe-catalyzed periodate (PI) processes is often limited by both the narrow applicable pH range and weak reaction between Fe(III) and oxidant. Here, the biodegradable picolinic acid (PICA) was used as one kind of chelating ligands (CLs) to enhance the removal of organic pollutants (OPs) at initial pH 3.0-8.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the leading causes of cancer mortality in the world. Prognostic indicators such as clinicopathological characteristics and single molecular signature are far from satisfactory in clinical practice. More and more researches have suggested that polygenic prognostic features could predict the prognosis of cancer more precisely than single genes nowadays.

Article Synopsis
  • - The multifunctional composite FeO/GO/NH-MIL-53(Fe) effectively removes Aflatoxin B (AFB) through its strong adsorption properties due to a large surface area and numerous adsorption sites.
  • - Its degradation capabilities involve the generation of reactive radicals (like hydroxyl radicals) through a metal-oxygen coordination complex that enhances the breakdown of AFB.
  • - The combined effects of adsorption and advanced oxidation from the nanozyme lead to a highly efficient removal process for AFB, presenting a new approach to mitigate its risks.

Metastasis is the major cause of treatment failure in patients with prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD). Diverse programmed cell death (PCD) patterns play an important role in tumor metastasis and hold promise as predictive indicators for PRAD metastasis. Using the LASSO Cox regression method, we developed PCD score (PCDS) based on differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with PCD.

The Detection Transformer (DETR) has revolutionized the design of CNN-based object detection systems, showcasing impressive performance. However, its potential in the domain of multi-frame 3D object detection remains largely unexplored. In this paper, we present STEMD, a novel end-to-end framework that enhances the DETR-like paradigm for multi-frame 3D object detection by addressing three key aspects specifically tailored for this task.

Impacted proximal ureteral stones (IPUS) present challenging clinical scenarios due to their persistent nature and associated complications. While ureterorenoscopy (URS) lithotripsy is recommended as the primary treatment, controversies exist regarding the optimal management of such stones. In this retrospective analysis, we compared the operative outcomes and long-term results of transperitoneal laparoscopic ureterolithotomy (LU) and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) for IPUS larger than 15 mm.

Oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is the efficiency limiting half-reaction in water electrolysis for green hydrogen production due to the 4-electron multistep process with sluggish kinetics. The electrooxidation of thermodynamically more favorable organics accompanied by CC coupling is a promising way to synthesize value-added chemicals instead of OER. Efficient catalyst is of paramount importance to fulfill such a goal.

In this work, porous polyimide microfibers (PI-μF) were prepared by high-pressure wet spinning method, and successfully applied as adsorbents for solid phase extraction (SPE) of fluoroquinolones (FQs) in water and food samples. The PI-μFs of ∼10, 25, 50, 100 μm in diameter could be controlled by the inner diameter of quartz capillary nozzles. The flow resistance of SPE cartridges packed with 10 μm PI microfiber (10-PI-μF) and 25-PI-μF was comparable to or even lower than that of commercial SPE cartridges, while the flow resistance of 50-PI-μF and 100-PI-μF SPE cartridges was increased obviously due to tiny broken pieces.

The emergence and development of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) techniques enable researchers to perform large-scale analysis of the transcriptomic profiling at cell-specific resolution. Unsupervised clustering of scRNA-seq data is central for most studies, which is essential to identify novel cell types and their gene expression logics. Although an increasing number of algorithms and tools are available for scRNA-seq analysis, a practical guide for users to navigate the landscape remains underrepresented.
