Skin epidermal stem cells (EpSCs) play an important role in wound healing. Quercetin is a phytoestrogen reported to accelerate skin wound healing, but its effect on EpSCs is unknown. In this study, we investigated the effect of quercetin on human EpSC proliferation and explored the underlying mechanisms.

In the present study, we compared the difference between meropenem and imipenem disk for detecting carbapenemase-producing gram-negative bacilli using simplified carbapenem inactivation method (sCIM). 106 Enterobacteriaceae, including 74 CPE, 17 Pseudomonas aeruginosa including 10 carbapenemase-producing isolates and 36 Acinetobacter baumannii including 20 carbapenem-resistant isolates preserved in our laboratory were tested.

Methods: Totally 152 CKD stage 2-3 patients complicated with HUA were recruited. According to their uric acid-lowering therapy, there were 67 patients included in febuxostat group and 85 in allopurinol group, respectively.
Estrogen has been reported to inhibit neutrophil infiltration related inflammation and suppress neutrophils migration in vitro, but the underlying mechanism is not fully understood. By using HL-60 differentiated neutrophil-like cells (dHL-60) and human neutrophils, we examined the effect of 17-β estradiol (E) on cell migration and superoxide production in response to chemotactic peptide N-formyl-methionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine (fMLP) and explored the mechanisms involved. We found that fMLP significantly induced dHL-60 cell and neutrophil migration and superoxide production, which was inhibited by ERK inhibitor PD98059.

Luteolin-7-glucoside (L7G) has been reported to accelerate skin wound healing through its anti-inflammatory and antioxidative activity. But its effect on EpSCs is not clear.
