Hydranencephaly (HE) is a severe and isolated malformation affecting the cerebral mantle. In this condition, the cerebral hemispheres are entirely or almost entirely absent, replaced by a membranous sac filled with cerebrospinal fluid, while the midbrain is usually preserved. Although HE is a relatively rare brain disorder, the differential diagnosis must include conditions such as severe hydrocephalus, porencephalic cysts, and alobar holoprosencephaly.

Holoprosencephaly (HPE) is a severe and complex congenital brain malformation caused by a defect in the midline cleavage of the prosencephalon during early embryonic development. It is the most common prosencephalic malformation in humans and is categorized into three classical forms based on the severity of this cleavage defect: alobar, semilobar, and lobar HPE. A milder interhemispheric variant, called syntelencephaly, is also considered a form of HPE.

π-Conjugated systems are the key to the charge transport properties of organic semiconductors. Four multifunctional mesogenic materials were designed and synthesised from 2-amino anthracene and -hydroxybenzaldehyde. Each material contains a central, rigid phenyl-anthracene core and one flexible alkyloxy chain with different lengths based on the concept of combining liquid crystal (LC) materials featuring facile processability, highly ordered alignment, and effective charge transport.

Article Synopsis
  • Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM) is an autoimmune condition in children that causes inflammation in muscles and skin, and identifying specific autoantibodies can help classify its subtypes and predict outcomes.
  • A case study describes a 5-year-old Moroccan boy with JDM who exhibited symptoms such as dysphagia, facial erythema, muscle weakness, and characteristic skin rashes, along with positive anti-SAE antibodies, a rare finding.
  • Treatment involved high-dose methylprednisolone followed by a tapering dose of oral prednisone, highlighting the need for targeted therapies based on specific antibody presence in JDM.

Liposarcomas (LPS) are the most common malignant tumors among soft tissue sarcomas. We report a rare case of well-differentiated liposarcoma (lipoma-like) located along the anterior compartment of the right forearm, which was successfully treated with complete excision, resulting in good functional recovery without recurrence during a 2-year follow-up. Surgery is the primary treatment for localized forms, involving complete and radical excision with clear resection margins.

Unlabelled: Pelvic pain is a frequent reason for consultation; the management is complex, given the differences in symptomatic and anatomical orientation. We present an exceptional case of intergluteal synovial sarcoma rarely described in the literature, with an incidence of about 1/1 000 000 and less than 10 cases of intergluteal location are published.

Case Presentation: Through this publication, we present a very exceptional case of synovial sarcoma.

Nerve fibrolipoma is a very rare benign tumor, corresponding to fibrofatty proliferation of the epineurium and perineurium, where most frequently, the median nerve is touched. We report the case of a 52-year-old patient who has a giant fibrolipoma of the thenar branch of the median nerve evolving at the level of the thenar eminence, an exceptional size and location for this disorder. Our case presents fibrolipoma of the median nerve in thenar eminence, a size and localization that has not been reported in the literature to our knowledge A good dissection makes it possible to obtain total resection without neurological after-effects.

Post-traumatic dislocation of the hip is a surgical emergency that is usually caused by a high-energy trauma in a context of polytrauma. The pure obturator hip dislocation variant is very rare. It is considered an emergency, and its management must be done within 6 h by a qualified surgeon in order to reduce the risk of osteonecrosis of the femoral head and iatrogenic fractures.

Introduction And Importance: Ankle dislocation without fracture is an extremely rare injury, requires high-energy trauma, up to 1995, only 73 cases were reported in the literature and 154 cases up to 2017. It is therefore a post-traumatic ankle disease growing in parallel with the increase in road-traffic accidents requiring the study of incriminated factors such as hypoplasia of the medial malleolus.

Case Presentation: The authors report the case of a young patient, a football player, who presented with a pure, closed dislocation of his ankle following a road-traffic accident.

Anthracene is considered to be a popular choice as a building block for organic semiconductors. The present work is dedicated to the synthesis and characterization of a novel semiconductor (10-OPIA) possessing mesogenic properties, which allows better control over charge transport in the bulk of a material. A novel anthracene-based molecule is characterized for its potential applications: frontier molecular energy levels are studied by optical spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry and compared to values obtained via ab initio calculations.

Background And Study Aims: The success of conversion total hip arthroplasty (THA) among primary THA and revision THA remains unclear. We hypothesized that most conversion THA's can be performed using primary implants and will have an uncomplicated post-operative course.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-six patients (23 females, mean age 68,0y) who underwent conversion THA for failed interventions for proximal femur fractures in the period 2008-2018 were matched sequentially against patients of the same sex and age who underwent primary THA or revision THA.
