[Brucella endocarditis on Starr aortic valve prosthesis].

The authors report the case of a 22 year old patient with brucella endocarditis on a Starr-Edwards aortic valve prosthesis implanted 5 years previously. Six blood cultures were positive for Brucella melitensis biovar I. Antibiotic therapy associating Rifampicin and Tetracycline and then Rifampicin and Ofloxacine did not prevent abscess formation and valve dehiscence.

[Comparative study of the University of Wisconsin solution versus Eurocollins in kidney transplant].

UW (University of Wisconsin) solution, formulated by Belzer's team in Madison, has already been proved to increase cold ischemia time in liver and pancreas preservation. A multicentre clinical trial is being conducted to compare renal preservation in human transplantation using two different solutions: UW and Eurocollins (EC). This paper, whose results will be included in the multicentre trial, reports local comparative results between UW and EC perfused Kidneys.
