Self-adaptive dielectrics (SADs), with the characteristics of rapid charge dissipation in electric field distortion, is regarded as the future material for package insulation of advanced electronic devices. The current landscape of SADs is incapable to achieve tunable nonlinear electrical conductivity and threshold field strength due to the inherent Schottky barrier, significantly limiting the application scenarios of SADs. Here, a strategy is reported to construct a stepped Schottky barrier through virus-like structures, which are composed of subminiature metal particles and semiconductor microspheres.

Radiation therapy for cancer treatment brings about a series of radiation injuries to normal tissues. In recent years, the discovery of copper-regulated cell death, cuproptosis, a novel form of programmed cell death, has attracted widespread attention and exploration in various biological functions and pathological mechanisms of copper metabolism and cuproptosis. Understanding its role in the process of radiation injury may open up new avenues and directions for exploration in radiation biology and radiation oncology, thereby improving tumor response and mitigating adverse reactions to radiotherapy.

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of most prevalent cancers worldwide, especially in China. Lacking in depth mechanism study, effective targets and therapeutics are desperately needed in the clinic. RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) mediate the localization, stability, and translation of the target transcripts and fine-tune the physiological functions of the proteins encoded.

Commonly-used ether and carbonate electrolytes show distinct advantages in active lithium-metal anode and high-voltage cathode, respectively. While these complementary characteristics hold promise for energy-dense lithium metal batteries, such synergy cannot be realized solely through physical blending. Herein, a linear functionalized solvent, bis(2-methoxyethyl) carbonate (BMC), is conceived by intramolecularly hybridizing ethers and carbonates.

Gastric cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death, and gastric precancerous lesions (GPLs) are an important stage in the transformation of normal gastric mucosa to gastric cancer. Matched for age and sex, a total of 316 subjects were eventually included from our prospective observation population (including 1007 patients with GPLs and 762 normal controls), and a questionnaire survey was conducted. In total, 10 plasma elements (iron, copper, zinc, selenium, rubidium, strontium, titanium, aluminum, vanadium and arsenic) were measured by applying inductively coupled plasma‒mass spectrometry (ICP‒MS).

Radiotherapy improves the survival rate of cancer patients, yet it also involves some inevitable complications. Radiation-induced heart disease (RIHD) is one of the most serious complications, especially the radiotherapy of thoracic tumors, which is characterized by cardiac oxidative stress disorder and programmed cell death. At present, there is no effective treatment strategy for RIHD; in addition, it cannot be reversed when it progresses.

Numerous long noncoding RNAs (LncRNAs) were having recently been shown to be involved in cancer development, including gastric cancer (GC). However, the precise mechanism and treatments to target these molecules have rarely been studied. Thus, we aimed to investigate the function of LncHOXA10 in gastric tumorigenesis and targeted therapy.

The dietary intakes of choline and betaine have been related to the mortality of some neoplasms, but their effects on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) mortality are still unknown. We examined the associations between dietary choline, five choline-containing compounds, different choline forms, betaine intake and HCC mortality. In total, 905 newly diagnosed HCC patients were enrolled in the Guangdong Liver Cancer Cohort study.

Aim: Adherence to dietary recommendations has been linked to a reduced risk of developing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and dying of chronic liver disease. However, its role in the prognosis of HCC is still unclear. We prospectively investigated the association of two dietary quality indices, the Chinese Healthy Eating Index (CHEI) and the Healthy Eating Index-2015 (HEI-2015), with all-cause and HCC-specific mortality in a large prospective cohort of HCC survivors.

We aimed to detect the expression of specific LncRNAs in exosomes isolated from the serum of patients with precancerous lesions and to study the effect of these serum exosomes on the activity of GES-1 cells in patients with precancerous lesions, as well as the activity of all-trans retinoic acid on GES-1 cells with or without the exosomes. Exosomes were extracted from the serum of patients with precancerous lesions and normal controls. Based on our previous sequencing results, quantitative real time-PCR was used to detect differentially expressed LncRNAs.

Background And Aims: Free and bioavailable 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) are emerging measurements of vitamin D status. It remains unclear whether circulating free or bioavailable 25OHD are relevant to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) prognosis. Our aim was to test the hypothesis that bioavailable 25OHD may be a better serum biomarker of vitamin D status than total 25OHD on the association with HCC survival.

A family of highly stable lanthanide coordination polymers incorporating fluorine-substituted carboxylate tectonics and the rigid ligand phenanthroline, namely, {[Ln (Tfbda) (Phen)·2HO]·2HO} , (Ln = Pr (1), Ho (4) and Gd (7), = 2, = 3); {[Ln (Tfbda) (Tfba) (Phen) ·2HO]·HO} ( > 1, Ln = Dy (3), Er (5) and Yb (6), = 4, = 1, = 3); [Ln(HTfbda)(Phen)·(HO)]·Phen (Ln = Nd (2)), Tfbda = 3,4,5,6-tetrafluoro-benzene-1,2-dioic acid, Tfba = 2,3,4,5-tetrafluorobenzoic acid have been afforded under hydrothermal conditions. The series of coordination polymers exhibited diverse structural motifs, from dinuclear cluster to 1-D chain arrary, displaying efficiently sensitized luminescence over a spectral range from visible to near-infrared (NIR) region and a long lifetime, due to efficient energy transfer from fluorine-substituted ligands to Ln(iii) centers in solid state. Slow relaxation magnetization and significant frequency- and temperature-dependent peaks were observed in trinuclear Dy(iii)-based coordination polymer 3.
