Background: Despite hip function typically deteriorating in the post-collapse stage of osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH), some patients can still demonstrate long-term favorable hip function, a state termed "survival with collapse". This study aims to identify the characteristics of patients suitable for "survival with collapse" in cases of ONFH.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included 65 patients (87 hips) diagnosed with post-collapse ONFH for ≥ 3 years (average 9.
Steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head (SONFH) is difficult to be diagnosed at the early stages when it can be administrated effectively. Yet, to date no study has been performed to identify diagnostic biomarkers and to develop diagnostic models for SONFH. In the current study, a total of 60 SONFH patients with Association Research Circulation Osseous (ARCO) stages I-IV, and 20 controls were enrolled and divided into the discovery and validation cohorts.

Methods: Eighty-five rats were divided into four groups: control, model, Huogu 15 g/kg and Huogu 30 g/kg. Six weeks later, animals were anaesthetized, femora was dissected for histopathological examination of the osteonecrotic changes and repair processes, micro computed tomography (Micro-CT)-based micro-angiography was performed to assess vascularization.

Objective: To observe the efficacy and features of treating early-to-middle stage nontraumatic osteonecrosis of femoral head (NONFH) patients by Jianpi Huogu Recipe (JHR).
Methods: Using retrospective paired control method, early-to-middle stage NONFH patients treated by JHR and followed-up for 2 years were recruited as the test group (47 cases). Those accepted surgery of core decompression, focus debridement and bone graft were recruited as the control group (48 cases).
