Background: The immunologic factors are the chief reason for recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) and induction of maternal-fetal tolerance is the main treatment for this cause of RPL, but the effect of this method is uncertainly and needs multiple doses and/or interventions. The aim of this study was to investigate whether a single administration of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) can improve the pregnancy outcomes of RPL mice and whether the improvement is cause by TGF-β1 driving the expression of immune tolerance molecule indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO).
Materials And Methods: In this experimental study, 40 RPL model mice were equally divided into a control group, that received 0.
Unexplained fever poses significant diagnostic challenges in resource-limited settings like Bamako, Mali, where overlapping endemic diseases include malaria, HIV/AIDS, yellow fever, typhoid, and others. This study aimed to elucidate the infectious etiologies of acute febrile illnesses in this context. Acute febrile patients of any age were enrolled after informed consent or assent.

Aim: It was to evaluate women's knowledge about breast cancer in the obstetrics and gynecology department of the district hospital of commune II of Bamako.
Measles is vaccine-preventable extremely contagious disease caused by the measles virus. High vaccination coverage is needed to prevent outbreaks of disease. Although molecular surveillance of measles is critical to characterize outbreaks and track viral evolution, few whole-genome sequences of measles virus from West Africa are available despite continual outbreaks in the region.

By recognizing the importance of continuous research on creating novel algorithms, this paper introduced a hybrid metaheuristic algorithm-h-PSOGNDO, which is a combination of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Generalized Normal Distribution Optimization (GNDO). The proposed algorithm utilizes the Particle Swarm Optimization's strategy for exploitation and the Generalized Normal Distribution Optimization's global search strategy for exploration.

Our objective was to determine the prevalence of plasmodial carriage in blood bags and the associated factors, and the involvement of these bags in the occurrence of malaria in recipients.
Methods: From 1st April to 30th November, 2020, we conducted a prospective cross-sectional study of 348 blood bags stored at 4°C in Bamako.
In this randomised, controlled study in 14 low- and middle-income countries, individuals taking dolutegravir with darunavir/ritonavir for 48 weeks had a greater increase in systolic and diastolic blood pressure than individuals taking two nucleoside reverse transcriptase with darunavir/ritonavir. The difference remained significant after controlling for confounding factors including weight gain.

Health workers were expected to use the NIIS alongside the legacy paper-based system. Starting in 2018, Hanoi and Son La provinces transitioned to paperless reporting.

Even in the best-studied model phages, the roles of most phage-encoded gene products are unknown, and the phage population represents a largely untapped reservoir of novel gene functions. Considering the sheer size of this population, experimental screening methods are needed to sort through the enormous collection of available sequences and identify gene products that can modulate bacterial behavior for downstream functional characterization.

Health taxes, however, directly conflict with commercial actors' interests. Both pro-tax health advocates and anti-tax industry representatives seek to frame health tax policy.

In response there has been an explosion of digital interventions such as smartphone applications ("apps") to extend care. The objective of this trial is to evaluate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of a digital depression intervention (VMood), delivered via a smartphone app.

As both infections are strongly linked to HIV infection, they may share certain clinical manifestations, and the interaction of their treatments should be considered. However, despite their similarity, concurrent tuberculosis and cryptococcal infections have rarely been reported in West Africa.

The present study aimed to assess the ecological and human health risks associated with the contamination of cyanotoxins and heavy metals in a drinking water supply reservoir, the Tri An Reservoir (TAR), in Vietnam. Results demonstrated that the concentrations of individual heavy metals varied in the following order: iron (Fe) > lead (Pb) > arsenic (As) > zinc (Zn).

This discrete choice experiment estimates the potential impact of these policies on smoking behaviour.
Methods: In February-May 2022, we conducted a phone-based, cross-sectional survey of 1494 Vietnamese adults who smoke.
Objective: The aim of our study was to evaluate the frequency, type, and risk factors associated with adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in HIV-positive children with adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) at the Unit of Care and Accompaniment for People Living With HIV (USAC) of Bamako.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at USAC of Bamako from May 1, 2014, to July 31, 2015. We included children aged 1 to 14 years with at least 6 months of ARV treatment initiated at USAC, with or without ADRs.
Background: For people with HIV and CD4 counts >500 cells/mm, early initiation of antiretroviral therapy (ART) reduces serious AIDS and serious non-AIDS (SNA) risk compared with deferral of treatment until CD4 counts are <350 cells/mm. Whether excess risk of AIDS and SNA persists once ART is initiated for those who defer treatment is uncertain.
Methods: The Strategic Timing of AntiRetroviral Treatment (START) trial, as previously reported, randomly assigned 4684 ART-naive HIV-positive adults with CD4 counts .
Purpose: Brain necrosis after radiotherapy is a challenging diagnosis, since it has similar radiological appearance on standard MRI to tumor progression. Consequences on treatment decisions can be important. We compare recent imaging techniques in order to adopt a reliable diagnostic protocol in doubtful situations.

This study aimed to estimate the health impacts of different SSBs tax plans currently under discussion to provide an evidence base to inform decision-making about a SSBs tax policy in Vietnam.
Method & Findings: Five tax scenarios were modelled, representing three levels of price increase: 5%, 11% and 19-20%.
Introduction: There is growing interest among low- and middle-income countries to introduce electronic immunization registries (EIRs) that capture individual-level vaccine data. We compare the design, development, and deployment of EIRs in Vietnam, Tanzania, and Zambia. Through desk review and the authors' firsthand implementation experiences, we describe experiences related to timeline, partnerships, financial costs, and technology and infrastructure.

We report here a case of neuromeningeal cryptococcosis associated with pulmonary tuberculosis and malnutrition in an HIV-seronegative patient with a CD4 count of 750/mm, to highlight some particularities opposed to certain literatures. This is an 18-year-old patient, housewife, from Bamako, admitted in the Infectious and tropical diseases department of the University teaching hospital Point G of Bamako on March 13, 2022 for fever and impaired consciousness.
