Akin to the impact that digital microelectronics had on electronic devices for information technology, digital microfluidics (DMF) was anticipated to transform fluidic devices for lab-on-a-chip (LoC) applications. However, despite a wealth of research and publications, electrowetting-on-dielectric (EWOD) DMF has not achieved the anticipated wide adoption, and commercialization has been painfully slow. By identifying the technological and resource hurdles in developing DMF chip and control systems as the culprit, we envision democratizing DMF by building a standardized design and manufacturing platform.

Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics, diagnosis, and treatment of one patient with primary adrenal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (PANKTCL), and to strengthen the understanding of this rare type of lymphoma.

Methods: The clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment process, and prognosis of the patient admitted in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed.

Results: Combined with pathology, imaging, bone marrow examination, etc, the patient was diagnosed with PANKTCL (CA stage, stage II; PINK-E score 3, high-risk group).

Cadmium (Cd) removal is imperative to ensure the safety of aquatic-ecosystem, yet its effective removal technology has remained elusive by far. To address this concern, three-dimensional N-doped carbon (NC) polyhedrons affording ample porosity is fabricated based upon the thermal carbonization and KOH activation of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) precursor. Thus-derived activated NC (a-NC) adsorbent not only overcomes the inherent instability of ZIF-8 but also harvests a maximum Cd(Ⅱ) adsorption capacity of 370.

Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of the supraorbital keyhole approach (SKA) via a forehead wrinkle incision in the resection of tumors in the anterior skull base and sellar region.

Methods: Sixty patients with tumors located in the anterior skull base and sellar region treated through the SKA in our hospital from 2017 to 2020. The skin incision and bone flap position were designed individually according to the size and growth of the tumor.

The efficient enrichment and reutilization of phosphate from natural water still remains a daunting challenge to satisfy the increasingly stringent phosphate discharge criteria. In response to this problem, the presented study successfully synthesizes a series of magnetic zeolitic imidazolate framework-8@engineering nanomaterials (ZIF8@ENMs) via a two-step hydrothermal and coprecipitation method by facilely growing ZIF8 and/or FeO on various functional ENMs. Structure morphology, chemical composition and hysteresis curve characterizations demonstrate the successful formation of magnetic FeO-ZIF8@ENM.
