Chemotherapy based on oxaliplatin (OXA) is the first-line treatment for advanced colorectal cancer (CRC), and acquired resistance to OXA is the main reason for clinical treatment failure in CRC. To search for compounds that can reverse OXA resistance, we screened a small molecule inhibitor drug library and identified a drug, Raddeanin A (RA), that enhanced the anticancer effect of OXA. Using human CRC cell lines, CRC organoid models, and subcutaneous tumorigenic studies, we determined that RA inhibits the proliferation of CRC cells by promoting apoptosis and inducing cell cycle arrest.

During the drug discovery and design process, the acid-base dissociation constant (pKa) of a molecule is critically emphasized due to its crucial role in influencing the ADMET (absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity) properties and biological activity. However, the experimental determination of pKa values is often laborious and complex. Moreover, existing prediction methods exhibit limitations in both the quantity and quality of the training data, as well as in their capacity to handle the complex structural and physicochemical properties of compounds, consequently impeding accuracy and generalization.

Background: Many studies reported the presence of adenomas with high-grade dysplasia (HGD) at index colonoscopy increased the incidence of advanced neoplasia (AN) and colorectal cancer (CRC) following. However, the conclusion remains obscure due to lack of studies on the specific population of adenomas with HGD. This study aimed to assess the long-term risk of AN and CRC after removal of adenomas with HGD.

Cholinergic α7 nicotinic receptors encoded by the gene are ligand-gated ion channels directly related to memory and immunomodulation. Exons 5-7 in can be duplicated and fused to exons A-E of , resulting in a hybrid gene known as , unique to humans. Its product, denoted herein as Dupα7, is a truncated subunit where the N-terminal 146 residues of the ligand binding domain of the α7 receptor have been replaced by 27 residues from FAM7.

In the elderly population, pathological inflammation has been associated with ageing-associated diseases. The term 'inflammageing', which was used for the first time by Franceschi and co-workers in 2000, is associated with the chronic, low-grade, subclinical inflammatory processes coupled to biological ageing. The source of these inflammatory processes is debated.

As a novel type of noncoding RNAs, circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been acknowledged as pivot effectors in multiple physiological and pathological processes, including cancer. Although an increasing number of circRNAs are gradually discovered, their function and mechanism in tumorigenesis remain largely unknown. In this study, we identified hsa_circ_0074362 as an oncogene in glioma.
