Background Membranous nephropathy (MN) and immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) are although two different entities, yet can rarely coexist. There is not much data available on this coexistent disorder, specifically with regard to the treatment modality and outcome. The quantity of iron deposited in the heart is a key determinant of outcome. Early diagnosis and intensive chelation of the cardiac iron can avert heart failure and its fatal outcome.
