Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate prospectively the direct costs of epilepsy in Russia, taking a patient perspective and a bottom-up approach.

Methods: The study was conducted in adolescents and adults with epilepsy seen in the ambulatory services of a city hospital in Moscow. Patients were assigned to different prognostic categories: newly diagnosed epilepsy; epilepsy in remission for 2+years; epilepsy in remission for <2years or with occasional seizures; active, nondrug-resistant epilepsy; drug-resistant epilepsy; and drug-resistant epilepsy in surgical candidates.

The prospective multicenter open noncomparative pharmaco-epidemiological observational project on the use of mydocalm in real clinical practice has been completed in 2013. The project has been performed in 2090 clinical/rehabilitation settings in 284 cities of 13 countries using the results of 35,383 patients. The project aimed to assess the safety of treatment (percentage of patients with adverse-effects) and pain relieving efficacy as well as patient's satisfaction with the treatment.

Results of the laparoscopic treatment of 36 patients with Hirschsprung's disease were analyzed. The majority of patients were the newborns or before 12 months old. The use of laparoscopy permitted a full-fledged topical diagnostics, aganglionosis zone identification, gut mobilization and voiding.

Results of performance of reconstructive-restoration operation in 7 patients with ascendostomy were analyzed. Of them in 4 as the first stage supraanal rectal resection was performed and in 3 - Gartmann operation. There was proposed the method for colonic continuity restoration after Gartmann operation performance, in which pancreatic stump is mobilized along its posterior wall, securing nutrient vessels up to highest point and lower surface of the pelvic peritoneum sheet.

The results of radiological, endoscopical, ultrasonic methods of examination, performed in 52 women of reproductive age with the inborn developmental failures, of uterus and in 69 with fibromyoma of uterus, were analysed. The revealing of organic changes in uterus and the small pelvis organs made it possible to perform successful surgical treatment, to restore reproductive function and to stabilize the adaptational possibilities of the women organism.
