Results of patch-tests from Santa Casa de Belo Horizonte Dermatology Clinic, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, from 2003 to 2010.

This Dermatology Clinic tests referred patients who have suspected allergic contact dermatitis. The patch-test results (1406 patients) from July 1(st), 2003 to June 30(th), 2010 will be reported and compared to the data from the Brazilian Contact Dermatitis Study Group (GBEDC). A standardized patch test (30 allergens) was used in all of these patients.

Photodynamic therapy for treatment of multiple lesions on the scalp in nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome: case report.

Photodynamic therapy is an effective alternative for the treatment of non-melanoma skin cancer, selectively destroying the neoplastic cells through the use of photosensitizer substances that are irradiated with a source of light of adequate wave length. Nevoid Basal Cell Carcinoma Syndrome is a genodermatosis characterized by multiples basal cell carcinomas occurring at an early age, compelling patients to various surgeries, some of them disfiguring. The aim of this article is to show the excellent result of the treatment of multiple basal cell carcinomas on the scalp of a patient suffering from Nevoid Basal Cell Carcinoma Syndrome.

Melanocyte transplant in piebaldism: case report.

Piebaldism is a rare genodermatosis in which depigmented skin areas are unresponsive to topical or light treatment. This article describes the importance of transplant techniques using noncultured melanocytes (minigrafting) in the treatment of piebaldism.

Onychomycosis in a very young child.

A child was diagnosed with onychomycosis before he was 2 months of age; however, he had noticeable nail lesions from the second week of life.

[Hailey-Hailey disease. Case for diagnosis].

The case of a 9-year-old girl with a history of blistering lesions restricted to the right side of her body is described. Several family members are also affected in a symmetrical fashion. Histological examination showed acantholysis similar to a 'dilapidated brick wall', corresponding to a rare presentation of mosaicism in Hailey-Hailey disease.
