Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to identify risk factors for preeclampsia (PE) in women with pregestational diabetes by analyzing maternal characteristics during pregnancy.
  • Preeclampsia was diagnosed in 30% of the examined women, with chronic hypertension and systolic blood pressure over 124 mmHg being significant independent risk factors.
  • The findings suggest a need for close monitoring of blood pressure and gestational weight gain, and early use of low-dose aspirin may benefit women at higher risk for PE.
