Background: Cytology is an excellent method with which to diagnose preinvasive lesions of the uterine cervix, but it suffers from limited specificity for clinically significant lesions. Supplementary methods might predict the natural course of the detected lesions. The objective of the current study was to test whether a multicolor fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assay might help to stratify abnormal results of Papanicolaou tests.

Unlabelled: Adjuvant chemotherapy decisions in breast cancer are increasingly based on the pathologist's assessment of tumor proliferation. The Swiss Working Group of Gyneco- and Breast Pathologists has surveyed inter- and intraobserver consistency of Ki-67-based proliferative fraction in breast carcinomas.

Methods: Five pathologists evaluated MIB-1-labeling index (LI) in ten breast carcinomas (G1, G2, G3) by counting and eyeballing.

We report the cardiac features of seven patients with X-linked McLeod neuroacanthocytosis syndrome, a multi-system disorder resembling Huntington's disease and cardiac manifestations in about half of the patients reported to date. One patient presented with a cardiomyopathy (normal size of the left ventricle with concentric remodeling and mildly impaired ejection fraction, 43%). This patient died from sudden cardiac death in the absence of any cardiovascular risk factors.
