Background: Spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) is a difficult diagnosis, especially in an emergency department (ED) setting where magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is usually not available.
Objectives: To emphasize the presence of a very frequent but unnoticed tentorial subdural hygroma among a number of recognized noncontrast brain computed tomography (CT) findings in patients with spontaneous intracranial hypotension.
Methods: This is a case series study of 7 consecutive patients with orthostatic headache who were admitted to the ED and finally diagnosed as SIH, and of 11 women who underwent brain CT due to very severe orthostatic headache after epidural anesthesia.
Objectives: To present the diagnostic accuracy and safety of a novel technique for CT-guided transthoracic needle aspiration biopsy (TNAB) of lung lesions suspected of malignancy.
Methods: A novel technique for coaxial CT-guided TNAB is reported in this single-centre, retrospective study. A 22-gauge guide wire is used to accurately locate the lesion prior to biopsy.
Partial segmental thrombosis of the corpus cavernosum is an unusual clinical condition. It is characterized by thrombosis within the proximal segment of the corpus cavernosum visualized with radiologic imaging. We report a case of a 56-year-old man diagnosed with computed tomography, sonography and magnetic resonance imaging that revealed a thrombosis in the right proximal corpus cavernosum.

This rare condition is called crowned dens syndrome and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of a possible etiology for fever, headache and cervical pain of unknown origin. The syndrome is often overlooked, thus leading to misdiagnosis, invasive and useless investigations (lumbar puncture, biopsy), inappropriate treatment (steroids, antibiotics, antiviral drugs) and prolonged hospitalization.

The patient position is reversed (from prone to supine or vice versa) and the aspiration repeated.
Methods: Between January 1, 2010, and April 3, 2012, 129 consecutive, CT image-guided, percutaneous needle biopsies of lung nodules were performed in 127 patients (75 men, 52 women; mean age, 67.
Purpose: To carry out a pilot study comparing the size of various types of metallic intraocular foreign bodies as imaged on computed tomographic (CT) scan to their actual size, and to determine the features of different types of metals on CT scan.
Methods: Metallic foreign bodies of predetermined standardized sizes were prepared from iron, silver, copper, aluminium, and lead. The metallic pieces/shards were each inserted into the vitreous of a cow's eye and helical CT scan (MX twin, Picker) was performed to image the intraocular foreign bodies, using soft tissue and bone window settings.
Prenatal diagnosis of oral cystic lesions is rare but is reported more frequently. The diagnosis of sublingual cyst is important because of the potential for airway obstruction. A rare case of a foregut duplication cyst associated with unilateral sclerocorneal microphthalmia is reported.

Herein we describe the technique of CT-guided lumbar or thoracic bone biopsy performed with a larger bore needle and coaxial system. The use of the external sheath cannula as a coaxial system led to an accurate diagnosis in all 19 patients who underwent the procedure. Bleeding at the biopsy site occurred in two patients and was controlled by insertion of Gelfoam.

Although mainly a disease of early childhood, it can occur at any age. HSP is typically recognized as a syndrome with four major components: rash, joint manifestations, abdominal symptoms and renal disease.
