Background: Varicocele, a common vascular abnormality surrounding the testis, is known to be associated with impaired semen parameters and male infertility in adults. However, its impact on the adolescent and young adult (AYA) population is less well known.
Objectives: The study aimed to assess the improvement in sperm parameters following varicocelectomy in the AYA population, comparing them to matched adult counterparts, and investigating potential advantages of early intervention.
Introduction: Sexual dysfunction is highly prevalent among men of reproductive age. Clinical practice guidelines have been established to assist providers in identification and education of patients who are at increased risk for infertility and sexual dysfunction with certain congenital and acquired urogenital disorders. The authors sought to review the reproductive and sexual health implications of treating common childhood urological conditions with commonly performed surgical procedures.

In 2001, the first description of NeoVP using the Yang-Monti technique with a sigmoid double tubular flap was published. We present our experience of NeoVP with a single Yang-Monti tube (SYMT) flap and report on the use of different segments of colon.

While VCUG is frequently performed, the incidence of concomitant VUR and UPJO is low, and VUR is often low-grade with high rates of spontaneous regression.
Objective: To analyze the clinical relevance of VCUG in patients with UPJO by determining its incidence and studying the difference in clinical outcomes between patients with known, unknown, and negative VUR.
Objective: To study compensatory changes in testicular growth and the hormonal axis after unilateral orchiectomy in a neonatal, prepubertal, and pubertal/adult murine model. This is the first study to use a neonatal mouse survival surgery model.
Design: A laboratory-based study examining a control, neonatal, prepubertal, and pubertal/adult mouse model.
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the proportion of male cancer patients who undergo semen cryopreservation before chemotherapy after referral was placed, identify factors associated with completing the procedure, and explore reasons for not moving forward with it.
Methods: The electronic medical records of men with cancer who were referred to a reproductive urologist identified with an ICD-10 code for a fertility preservation procedure (Z31.62, Z31.
In adolescents with Klinefelter syndrome (KS), cryopreservation would require surgery, which might delay testosterone therapy needed for testosterone deficiency. As surgical sperm retrieval rates are similar for all age groups in the KS population, fertility preservation in KS adolescents should not be recommended.

In prepubertal individuals, ovarian and testicular tissue can be frozen; however, this is still considered largely experimental. Our objective was to identify trends of FP in prepubertal individuals.

The umbilicus is a preferred site for single channel stomas given the ability to conceal the stoma. However, there are no studies describing outcomes of both stomas being created in the umbilicus.

Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate if ultrasonographic stabilization in the grade of hydronephrosis after pyeloplasty is an adequate parameter to define the optimal length of follow-up after surgery and to detect failed procedures. Secondarily, we want to analyze clinical variables that could impact ultrasonographic stabilization.
Background: Proximal hypospadias and severe ventral chordee are often challenging to repair. To preserve penile length in chordee repair, Small Intestinal Submucosa (SIS) corporal grafting is often performed with potential long-term complications including recurrent curvature and erectile dysfunction (ED). There is a paucity of data evaluating sexual function in mid, late and post-pubertal patients.

Abdominal evisceration secondary to VAS has been reported in only eight cases. A pregnant woman underwent VAS due to lower urinary tract obstruction with severe oligohydramnios.

KS also often results in decreased testicular growth and testosterone production. Because of this, exogenous testosterone therapy is commonly prescribed for KS patients to treat hypogonadism, but this may have additional impacts to future fertility potential.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFMale production of testosterone is crucial for the development of a wide range of functions. External and internal genitalia formation, secondary sexual characteristics, spermatogenesis, growth velocity, bone mass density, psychosocial maturation, and metabolic and cardiovascular profiles are closely dependent on testosterone exposure. Disorders in androgen production can present during all life-stages, including childhood and adolescence, and testosterone therapy (TT) is in many cases the only treatment that can correct the underlying deficit.

Methods: Eighteen urology journals were divided into groups based on impact factor accordingly: from 33.
An increasing number of studies show declining sperm counts; however, semen analyses are uncommon until the evaluation for infertility. Semen analysis is a safe, reliable and relatively inexpensive screening test, assessing male fertility and directing further work-up. In young men, the use of semen analysis may identify disease prior to attempted conception and result in improved fertility potential when combined with lifestyle changes, medical or surgical therapy.

Men are disproportionately affected by COVID-19, having more severe disease with higher mortality rates than women.

Classic KS involves an extra X chromosome, (47, XXY), although other variations may exist, including a milder mosaic form as well as multiple extra sex chromosomes with more dramatic phenotypes. KS is underdiagnosed, especially pre-pubertally, owing to a paucity of concrete clinical signs; however, diagnostic rates increase during and after puberty, as the consequences of hypergonadotropic hypogonadism begin to manifest.

VACTER association involves congenital anomalies affecting the vertebrae, anus, heart, trachea, esophagus, kidney and genitourinary system. This is the first description of a case of coronal bladder duplication in a patient that also presented with anomalies on the foregut and other organs that correspond to VACTER association.

Recent Findings: Sperm is present in the ejaculate in around 8% of men with Klinefelter's syndrome. Although most are severely oligospermic/azoospermic, 43-45% of men will have sperm found during a testicular sperm extraction, reaching up to 70% in adolescents.
