The study aimed to assess the mental health effects of resistance training on UK Armed Forces personnel and the psychological impact on the instructors delivering the training.
Results showed that while trainees felt more capable of coping with captivity, there was no significant rise in anxiety, although post-traumatic stress symptoms increased slightly a month after the course.
The mental health of Resistance Instructors was found to be poorer compared to other military personnel, despite them reporting positive views on their leadership and unit morale.
