Development of an Austrian HL7 Member FHIR IG Supporting Medication Ordering, Prescription and Dispense Processes.

The Austrian research project Linked Care explored digitalization in mobile care, focusing on streamlining the medication process to save nursing staff time. A FHIR R5-based workflow was developed to support medication ordering by nurses, prescriptions by practitioners, and dispensing by pharmacies. Key FHIR resources were profiled and published in an HL7 Austria Member Implementation Guide (IG).
